Logitech G522 LIGHTSPEED: New gaming headset presented

With the new Logitech G522 LIGHTSPEED, the gaming peripherals expert is launching a wireless gaming headset onto the market. It aims to impress with its high wearing comfort, powerful sound, high microphone quality and long battery life. Developed for demanding gamers, the G522 aims to offer a sophisticated combination of innovative acoustics, modern design and sustainable materials. A particular focus: use in competitive gaming, paired with a clear advantage in spatial audio perception.

Highlights

  • First Logitech G-Headset with isolated acoustic modules for more precise audio output
  • Three connection types: LIGHTSPEED, Bluetooth and USB-C with audio & charging function
  • 48kHz microphone with Blue VO!CE technology and LED mute indicator
  • Improved ergonomics, also suitable for spectacle and earring wearers

Precise sound thanks to innovative acoustic modules

The G522 is the first Logitech G headset to feature fully isolated acoustic modules. This innovation eliminates distortion between the left and right sides and ensures consistent sound reproduction. This should not only improve localization in the game – for example when recognizing steps or changes of direction. It should also intensify the bass.

In addition, energy consumption is reduced by around 35%, which has a positive effect on battery life. With the LED lighting switched on, up to 30 hours should be possible, and even up to 70 hours with the lighting switched off. The integrated PRO-G 40 mm drivers support the clean separation of dialog, music, sound effects and voice chat. Gamers benefit from a clear reproduction of every sound level – an advantage that should not be underestimated, especially in competitive titles.

Strong communication with broadcast quality

Logitech has equipped the G522 with a detachable microphone with a 48kHz sampling rate and 16-bit resolution – the highest level currently available in a gaming headset. Until now, the manufacturer has only been able to offer this microphone quality to its flagship model, the Logitech G Astro A50 (€ 399.00 *).

The Blue VO!CE function in the Logitech G HUB allows you to create your own sound profiles to adapt the voice to personal preferences or streaming standards. A practical mute LED provides visual feedback when the microphone is muted – a detail that ensures safety in hectic gaming situations.

Focus on comfort and control

The revised ear cups of the G522 are wider and equipped with additional memory foam. The new material is not only softer, but also more durable and breathable. The stretch-fit headband has also been optimized. This is reversible and comes with a flatter angle.

As someone who wears glasses, I can confirm the wearing comfort

It adapts better to different head shapes without causing pressure points – even for people who wear glasses or earrings. People who wear glasses in particular regularly had to contend with uncomfortable pressure with the mental predecessor in the form of the Logitech G733 Lightspeed (€ 95.90 *). The LED lighting has also been moved to the side, which should prevent reflections on the lenses.

The controls on the headset itself – including a non-slip volume wheel, a mute button and a connection button for Bluetooth – are clearly structured and intuitive to use. The USB-C interface not only enables charging, but also transmits audio signals for added convenience.

Customization and sustainability

The G522 offers a total of eight RGB lighting zones (four per side) with 16.8 million colors and several animation patterns. The lighting has been positioned to the side to avoid reflections on glasses or monitors – a direct response to user preferences.

Logitech is also setting new ecological standards: The G522 is made of 27% certified recycled plastic (PCR) and comes in completely paper-based packaging. In addition, a charging limit can be set in the software. This innovation at Logitech G is designed to preserve battery health in the long term.

Conclusion: Powerful sound for modern gamers

With the G522 LIGHTSPEED, Logitech is launching a headset on the market that not only impresses with its technical features. The newcomer also impresses at first glance in terms of comfort, sustainability and design. The three connection options, high-resolution microphone and precise audio output make it a versatile companion for gamers of all levels. The Logitech G522 Lightspeed will go on sale on June 16, 2025 at a fair price of € 169.99.
