Matter integration for Roborock models
Roborock rolled out firmware updates for several of its robot vacuum models at the beginning of April to implement support for the Matter standard. Matter is a cross-manufacturer communication protocol that facilitates interoperability between smart home devices from different manufacturers. With these updates, Roborock robot vacuums can now be seamlessly integrated into smart home platforms such as Apple Home, Google Home and Amazon Alexa. This enables simplified control and automation of the devices within the networked home.

Extended control options with Apple Home
With the introduction of iOS 18.4, Apple has integrated support for robotic vacuum cleaners that use the Matter standard into its Home app. This allows compatible Roborock models to be controlled directly via iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, HomePod or Mac. This allows users to integrate their robotic vacuum cleaners into automations or control them by voice command via Siri. A home hub such as a HomePod or Apple TV is required to use these functions.
Future outlook
Roborock is planning to extend Matter support to other models. In the near future, the Qrevo Slim (€ 1,499.99 *), among others, will also receive a corresponding firmware update. This development underlines Roborock’s commitment to offering its customers flexible and future-proof smart home integration.
