The German manufacturer for electronic consumer goods Medion brings interesting items to Aldi again, especially for gamers. This time, there are two gaming desktops and a Ryzen notebook with Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080.
Medion Erazer Beast X25
Medion’s new Erazer Beast X25 notebook comes with a 17.3-inch full HD IPS panel. The display has a refresh rate of 240 Hz. An AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX (Cezanne) is at work inside the notebook. The 7 nm CPU offers eight cores with multithreading at a base clock of 3.3 GHz up to a maximum of 4.6 GHz. With a TDP of 45 watts, the AMD Ryzen 5900HX processor achieves maximum performance. The CPU is supported by 64 GB of DDR4 RAM with a clock of 3,200 MHz.
An Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 (laptop GPU) joins the package so that games are also displayed cleanly. This has a graphics memory of 16 GB GDDR6. The GPU is configured with 150 watts plus 15 watts via Dynamic Boot 2.0 in the Erazer Beast X25. More is also not possible.
A 2 TB PCIe-SSD in the notebook provides enough storage space. The keyboard of the notebook has RGB lighting, a webcam with infrared for Windows Hello and Windows 10 Home are also on board. Wi-Fi 6 is used for connectivity. The notebook has one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type A, one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type C with DisplayPort, two USB 3.2 Gen1 Type A, one HDMI 2.1, RJ45, micro-SD card reader and Kensington Lock. The power supply is provided by a 6-cell battery with 91.2 Wh.
Overall, the Erazer Beast X25 comes with compact dimensions of 395 × 262 × 26 mm (W × D × H) despite its features and reaches a weight of 2.3 kg.
Medion Erazer Engineer X10
The gaming desktops start with the Erazer Engineer X10, which is equipped with an Intel Core i7-11700 from the Rocket Lake S generation. The processor has eight cores with 16 threads. It clocks with 2.5 GHz and a maximum of 4.9 GHz in Turbo. The CPU is supported by 32 GB of DDR4-3200 working memory and a 1 TB PCIe-SSD. To make gameplay fun as well, Medion has integrated an Nvidia GeForce 3070 with 8 GB of graphics memory in the Erazer Engineer X10.
On the connectivity side, the desktop PC has one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type C, four USB 3.2 Gen1 Type A, HDMI 2.1, two USB 2.0, three DisplayPorts 1.4, one RJ45 and one audio jack. Windows 10 Home is also pre-installed. The X10 comes to a dimension of 209 × 390 × 381 mm (W × D × H) with a weight of 12 kg.
Medion Erazer Hunter X20
Those who want even more performance will be well advised with the new Erazer Hunter X20. Here, the X20 can look forward to an Intel Core i9-11900K, which is the top model of the Rocket Lake S-series. To keep the high temperatures of the processor under control, the X20 is equipped with an Alphacool Eisbaer 240 water cooling system, which is also supported by 120 mm fans of the type In Win Saturn aRGB.
Also in the Hunter X20, the CPU is supported with 32 GB of DDR4-3200 RAM (Kingston HyperX Fury RGB). On the storage side, the gaming desktop is equipped with a 1TB PCIe SSD and a 4TB HDD. To ensure that the X20 is also far ahead graphically, an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3080 was installed here on an MSI MPG Z490 Wi-Fi Edge.
In terms of ports, it looks similar to the Erazer Engineer X10, here the X20 has one USB 3.2 Gen2 Type C, six USB 3.2 Gen1 Type A, HDMI 2.1, two USB 2.0, three DisplayPorts 1.4, one RJ45 (2.5 gives) and one audio jack.
Availability and prices
Starting May 27, 2021, the new gaming desktops and Ryzen notebook will be available in the online stores of Aldi Süd and Nord. Thereby, the Erazer Beast is supposed to cost 2,799 euros, the Engineer X10 1,499 euros and the Hunter X20 2,799 euros.
