Melo-D AI guitar makes music production possible without prior knowledge
With the Melo-D AI guitar, TemPolor aims to remove two classic hurdles to making music: technical dexterity when playing and the necessary knowledge of music theory when composing. Instead of complicated learning processes, the system relies on guided interaction, visual aids and generative AI.
At its heart is the in-house TemPolor.AI engine. This can generate a guitar solo from a simple hummed melody or create complete songs with arrangements, lyrics and AI-generated vocals from short text entries. Even simple chord sequences can be converted into complete tracks. This turns a spontaneous idea into a fully produced song in just a few seconds.
The so-called AI Tab function is particularly exciting. Users can insert a song link or upload an audio file, whereupon Melo-D automatically creates fingerstyle tabs or chord diagrams in less than a minute. Thanks to illuminated strings and on-screen guidance, even beginners can play songs directly without the need for classical music knowledge.
An integrated rhythm game mode further reinforces the playful learning approach. With real-time scoring and a glowing fretboard, the system is more reminiscent of a music game than traditional guitar lessons. Both a simplified 7-chord mode and an extended 21-chord mode are available.
Foldable design and standalone system make Melo-D particularly flexible
In addition to AI technology, TemPolor places great emphasis on mobility. Melo-D has a patented foldable design and can be folded to just 18.4 inches. This means the instrument fits easily into a normal backpack and is suitable for traveling, spontaneous sessions or mobile content creation setups.
Despite its compact format, the guitar integrates a 2.4-inch LCD touch display that enables full control directly on the device. A smartphone or an additional app is not required for the core functions. Lyrics, chords, playing modes and visual aids are displayed directly on the screen.
The so-called Rainbow Strings provide a real playing experience with physical strings, while color support makes learning easier. There are also 10 integrated sound profiles – including acoustic guitar, electric guitar, piano, guzheng and even drums. More than 160 rhythm patterns can be expanded via OTA updates.
Audio quality is ensured by an integrated DSP system with professional sound processing. Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 4, USB-C with OTG and 3.5 mm ports for microphone and headphones round off the setup. Melo-D has also already won several international design awards, including the iF Design Award 2026.
