Mercedes EQA 250+ for longer range
Mercedes is offering its electric SUV EQA in a new model that goes by the name Mercedes EQA 250+. The most important change here marks the front-wheel drive engine with 140 kW of power, which is supposed to realize acceleration from standstill to 100 km/h in 9.1 seconds. At the top, the new EQA model reaches a maximum of 160 km/h as its top speed.
The variant is equipped with a battery with a net capacity of 71 kWh, which is said to realize a range of 540 kilometers according to the Worldwide harmonized Light vehicles Test Procedure (WLTP).
The previous Mercedes EQA 250 (without + in the name) was equipped with a net battery capacity of 66.5 kWh, which enabled a range of around 430 km. Front-wheel drive and power of 140 kW, however, were the same. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h, on the other hand, was minimally better at 8.9 seconds.
Thanks to a powerful AC charging system, the EQA charges at a home wallbox with up to 11 kW, while up to 100 kW charging power can be accessed at fast charging stations on the road. According to the manufacturer, this allows the batteries to be charged from 10 to 80 percent in just 30 minutes – at least if prevailing conditions permit. The manufacturer gives the total consumption of the Mercedes EQA 250+ as 14.9 kWh/100km.
Price and availability
The new Mercedes EQA 250+ can already be found in the manufacturer’s configurator. There, the stated price is 52,984.75 euros including the manufacturer’s environmental bonus, but still without the government subsidy.
