AGON by AOC expands its own gaming line-up with two monitors that cover different but clearly defined areas of application. The U27G4XM features MiniLED backlighting, 4K resolution, HDR1000 and Dual Frame Mode for maximum picture quality and flexibility between UHD and high-refresh gaming. The 25G4KUR is aimed directly at the e-sports sector with a refresh rate of up to 420 Hz, fast IPS panel and Full HD resolution. Both models combine modern panel technology with extensive gaming features and should be available at comparatively attractive prices.
- U27G4XM: 27 inch, 4K, MiniLED, HDR1000 and Dual Frame Mode (4K @ 160 Hz / FHD @ 320 Hz).
- 25G4KUR: 24.5-inch Fast-IPS with Full HD and overclocked refresh rate of up to 420 Hz (400 Hz native).
- Both with gaming features such as Adaptive Sync, fast response times and low-input lag modes.
- Positioned as high-performance options for immersive single-player gaming and competitive e-sports.
MiniLED-HDR1000 and Dual Frame in the U27G4XM
The U27G4XM is a 27-inch gaming monitor with 4K resolution and modern MiniLED backlighting, which offers 1152 local dimming zones and thus enables significantly finer brightness control than classic edge-lit solutions. In combination with a Fast IPS panel, VESA DisplayHDR 1000 and a peak brightness of up to around 1200 cd/m², the display delivers particularly high-contrast HDR scenes with bright highlights and deep black areas that are equally suitable for games, films and content creation. The high color space coverage of around 152% sRGB and around 98% DCI-P3 ensures a very rich color reproduction that addresses both creative workflows and color-critical applications.
The Dual Frame Mode, which combines two operating modes, is technically interesting: 4K with up to 160 Hz for razor-sharp, immersive single-player experiences and Full HD with up to 320 Hz for competitive multiplayer scenarios. This eliminates the need to switch between different monitors for graphics quality and e-sports speed, which is particularly appealing to users with powerful PCs who switch flexibly between genres. HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 1.4 are also included, meaning that consoles with 4K at 120 Hz are supported in addition to the latest graphics cards, further expanding the range of possible applications.
420 Hz speed for e-sports: 25G4KUR
As a 24.5-inch Full HD monitor, the 25G4KUR is clearly geared towards e-sports and competitive gaming. The Fast IPS panel combines a native resolution of 1920 × 1080 pixels with a refresh rate of 400 Hz (420 Hz via overclocking), enabling very short frame intervals and smooth motion sequences. In conjunction with response times of up to 1 ms GtG and 0.3 ms MPRT, motion blur is reduced, which is particularly advantageous in fast FPS, MOBA or battle royale titles. The comparatively moderate resolution ensures that even powerful, but not absolutely high-end graphics cards can achieve high frame rates, which broadens the target group.
On the feature side, the 25G4KUR comes with DisplayHDR 400, a colour coverage of over 120% sRGB as well as Adaptive Sync and NVIDIA G-SYNC compatibility to minimize tearing and stuttering. This is complemented by low-input lag modes, shadow control options and game color adjustments that improve visibility in dark scenes and allow fine-tuning for different genres. The ergonomic stand allows height adjustment, tilt, swivel and pivot, which facilitates longer training sessions and supports setups in e-sports environments.
Complete gaming package and market positioning
Both monitors are part of the G4 design, which is based on an angular but restrained gaming design with three-sided frameless edges and is well suited for multi-monitor setups. Profiles, crosshair overlays (dial point) and other gaming presets can be managed via the G-Menu software, while integrated USB 3.2 hubs provide peripherals and fast charging functions. Features such as anti-blue light filters and flicker-free panels also address comfort during long sessions, which is relevant for both e-sports and content creation use. The U27G4XM also offers PiP/PbP functionality, which supports streaming setups or parallel working and gaming on one display, for example.
In terms of price, the U27G4XM is positioned in the upper segment, but with an RRP of EUR 519 in the EU, it remains below many comparable high-end 4K gaming monitors due to its MiniLED, HDR1000 and Dual Frame Mode features. The 25G4KUR starts at an RRP of 289 euros and brings a refresh rate of up to 420 Hz into a range that is also interesting for ambitious gamers and training environments.
According to the manufacturer, the 25G4KUR will be available at the end of November 2025, while the U27G4XM is expected to be on sale from January 2026, meaning that both will enter the market for high-performance gaming displays in a timely manner.
Conclusion: Two clearly profiled high-end gaming displays
With the U27G4XM and the 25G4KUR, AGON by AOC sharpens its own profile in the high-end gaming segment and covers both the need for maximum image quality and extreme refresh rates. The U27G4XM combines 4K, MiniLED, HDR1000 and Dual Frame Mode into an all-round monitor for single-player epics, console and competitive PC gaming, while the 25G4KUR with up to 420 Hz and Fast IPS panel targets e-sports setups. With RRPs of EUR 519 for the U27G4XM from January 2026 and EUR 289 for the 25G4KUR from the end of November 2025, both models appear competitive in view of their features and should significantly stimulate the market for gaming monitors in the coming year.
