M&K Sound D95 and D85: High quality speakers with noble design

M&K Sound has introduced two new, high-quality speakers, the D95 and D85, which stand alongside the M90 from last year. They realize high-quality sound and combine it with versatile uses and a classy design.

M&K Sound D95 and D85 in detail

M&K Sound looks back on an expertise of over 45 years. The manufacturer from Denmark has always focused on a special tuning, which is very well received by owners of a home theater, stereo enthusiasts and in sound studios.

With the M&K Sound D95 and D85, you can now expect two new speakers that combine a rich sound with compact dimensions. For the precise sound, among other things, the manufacturer’s typical 1.1-inch tweeters are installed, which are manufactured in Denmark. The tweeter’s specially coated silk dome is even used in the same design in the THX-certified reference speakers of the 150 series.

They are also said to feature accurate bass and differ in the mid-bass driver, which is 6.5 inches for the D95 and comes in at 5.5 inches for the D85. Both rely on a polypropylene cone.

Both models can also be mounted on the wall thanks to VESA holes in 100 x 100 mm and that thanks to deeply recessed terminal on the back particularly flat.

Versatile speakers

Both speakers rely on a crossover frequency of 1.6 kHz, which should result in a particularly smooth transition between tweeter and mid-woofer. The D85 covers a frequency response of 95 Hertz to 20,000 Hz at a sound pressure level of 89 dB. The D95, on the other hand, ranges from 90 Hz to 20,000 Hz with a characteristic sound pressure of 91 dB.

With a shallow depth of 9.5 centimeters and a compact front of 30.0 (H) x 24.0 (W) centimeters, even the larger speaker can be mounted unobtrusively on a living room wall or in a home theater. The D85 has the same depth, but is only 24.5 cm high and 19.5 cm wide.

Matching the newly introduced D-Series, the fundamentally revised version of the successful V-Subwoofers was also launched this year. They rely on an even more compact housing and a chic design that cuts a fine figure in any home. Designed for home theater applications, the models extend the frequency range of the multifunctional speakers with their powerful Class D power amplifiers down to an impressive 20 Hertz. As true reference subwoofers, V12+ and V15+ are even certified with the coveted THX label and can be extensively controlled via app.
