A new sign of life from Google’s WearOS 3 wearable operating system. About a year after the Samsung Galaxy Watch4 series was presented, a new smartwatch with the current operating system will soon be available. Apart from that, the new Montblanc Summit 3 also has a lot of other advantages to offer.
Montblanc Summit 3: details and info
Even after a good year, the Google Wear OS 3.0 operating system can still only be found on Samsung’s Galaxy Watch4 models. Meanwhile, the Fossil Gen 6 (our review) as well as their offshoots from Razer and Skagen (Falster Gen 6) are still waiting for the update, which is still only expected to be completed “during 2022.”
However, with the new Montblanc Summit 3 smartwatch, you can expect a new wearable soon, which combines several other advantages besides the current Google OS. On the one hand, the manufacturer relies on the current top chip Qualcomm Snapdragon Wear 4100+, which promises a strong performance.
In the press release, however, Montblanc still owes most of the technical details, according to the report by 9to5Google. The battery life and other features are still unknown. However, at least important features like sleep tracking, SpO2 sensor, pedometer, various fitness modes, navigation via Google Maps and mobile payments via Google Pay are offered.
Design and Size
According to the report, the Montblanc Summit 3 relies on a case made of titanium, which comes to a diameter of 42 mm. Offered will be the smartwatch in black, gray and various “bicolor” variants, with a choice of leather or silicone straps.
In addition to the large touchscreen, it is operated with the help of two buttons and a digital crown on the right side of the wearable.
Price and availability
However, unsurprisingly, the Montblanc Summit 3 smartwatch is not a bargain. The release is slated for July 15, 2022, starting at an MSRP of 1,250 euros, as again The Verge reports. The new smartwatch will be available directly from the manufacturer.
