Motorola Moto G52 comes with OLED display, Dolby Atmos and triple camera

Traditional manufacturer Motorola is pushing into the smartphone market with power. After the high-end smartphone Edge 30 Pro and the budget device Moto G22, the company now presented an exciting mid-range smartphone with the Motorola Moto G52. Highlights include an OLED panel, a refresh rate of 90 Hz, stereo speakers Dolby Atmos support and a triple camera.

The Motorola Moto G52 in detail

For a mid-range smartphone, the Motorola Moto G52 brings out the big guns. For the display, the manufacturer relies on a 6.6-inch AMOLED panel with a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a Full HD+ resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, with a pixel density of 402 PPI in 20:0 format. The screen-to-body ratio is 87.70 percent, while the front-facing camera is housed in a centered punch hole.

With dimensions of 160.98 mm x 74.46 mm x 7.99 mm (height x width x depth) and a weight of 169 grams, the Moto G52 is also suitable for a pocket and is also protected against water according to the IP52 standard. Motorola places a fingerprint sensor on the side below the volume rocker.

A USB-C port for charging is found on the bottom, and Motorola also installs a 3.5 mm jack. Unfortunately, 5G is not available, but Bluetooth 5.0, NFC and dual-band WLAN according to WLAN 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac standards are available.

Memory can be expanded via microSD card

Motorola’s Moto G52 uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 680 with a clock speed of up to 2.4 GHz. It is supported by 4 GB of working memory and 128 GB of system memory. Unfortunately, other variants with more RAM are not available. In return, the internal storage can be expanded by up to 1 TB via micro-SD card if you sacrifice one of the two hybrid dual-SIM slots.

Motorola is obviously particularly proud of the smartphone’s sound qualities and advertises the installed stereo speakers that also support Dolby Atmos. The battery capacity is 5,000 mAh, while a maximum of 30 watts is used for fast charging. Android 12 is used as the operating system, which is covered with the in-house user interface My UX.

The cameras of the Motorola Moto G52

On the rear, the Motorola Moto G52 relies on a triple-cam setup that consists of a 50-megapixel main lens (f/1.8), an 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera (f/2.2), and a 2-megapixel depth sensor (f/2.4). In addition, there is a macro LED flash. Videos are recorded by the G52 in a maximum of 1080p with 30 frames per second.

The selfie camera has a resolution of 16 megapixels with an aperture of f/2.45 and can also record videos in Full HD with 30 FPS. Various modes for portraits, group selfies and many more are offered here.

Prices and availability

The Motorola Moto G52 is already available in some European countries and should “shortly” also find its way to Germany. The smartphone is offered in the colors “Charcoal Grey” and “Porcelain White”. The manufacturer’s RRP is 249.99 euros. More information can be found on the official product website.
