Motorola Moto G72: Low-priced smartphone with 108 MP camera for 279 euros

Motorola is also going full throttle again in the fall and is releasing a new budget smartphone with the Motorola Moto G72, which offers a 108-megapixel skin camera and a 120 Hz OLED display at a price of 279 euros.

The Motorola Moto G72 in detail

Motorola has already released countless smartphones this year, most recently for example the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra, Neo and Fusion or the Motorola Edge 2022. With the Motorola Moto G72, a new budget model awaits you, which they have now officially unveiled.

It is powered by the MediaTek Helio G99 octa-core chip with a clock rate of 2.0 GHz and offers 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM. In addition, there is 128 GB of system storage, which can be expanded by up to 1 TB via microSD card.

The smartphone measures 160.5 mm x 74.4 mm x 7.9 mm and weighs 166 grams. Motorola installs a 6.6-inch pOLED display with a Full HD+ resolution of 2,400 x 1,080 pixels with a refresh rate of 120 Hz, which also supports HDR10+.

Large battery, powerful cameras

The battery of Motorola’s Moto G72 has a full 5,000 mAh and should thus last for a long time. The smartphone is charged exclusively via USB Type-C at a speed of 30 watts.

There is also a 3.5 mm jack for connecting headphones and headsets. Two stereo speakers with Dolby Atmos support and two microphones are also installed. Bluetooth 5.1, NFC, GPS and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/a are also included.

The camera setup is also interesting. Motorola relies on a main camera with a resolution of 108 megapixels and an open aperture of f/1.7. An 8 MP ultra-wide-angle camera (f/2.2) and a macro camera with two megapixels and an aperture of f/2.4 are added. The front camera in a punch hole has a resolution of 16 megapixels (f/2.45).

Of course, all sorts of photo modes are offered, such as a portrait mode, group selfies and more. Videos, on the other hand, are possible in 1080p resolution with up to 60 frames per second.

Android 12 is used as the operating system, which Motorola covers with its own My UX. The fingerprint scanner is located in the display, while unlocking with the help of facial recognition is also possible.

The Motorola Moto G72 is expected to be available in stores before the end of October 2022 and can be pre-ordered now directly from the manufacturer. It will be offered in the colors Polar Blue and Meteorite Grey at a recommended retail price of 279.99 Euros.
