N26: Mobile bank now offers standalone sub-accounts

N26 is one of the most popular representatives of mobile banks. One of the online bank’s most popular features are the so-called Spaces. Anyone who has an N26 Smart, N26 You or N26 Metal account can now turn the existing Spaces into independent sub-accounts. Each individual account then has a unique IBAN. The advantages are obvious. In the future, direct debit payments can be set up without any problems. On top of that, you should be able to conveniently receive a bank transfer via SEPA in your Spaces.

Administration will be made easier

As popular as the online bank may be, some peculiarities of the Scandinavian provider are then annoying. Making various payments at N26 was unfortunately a horror for many users. With the update and the creation of sub-accounts, this should now become easier. Especially regular payments such as rent, subscriptions or taxes should no longer be a problem. This is made possible by the individual IBANs that you can now assign to your Spaces. The process of assigning numbers is very simple. All you have to do is open the N26 app, go to the tab called “Spaces” and click on “Create new Space”. If you already have a Space, you can assign an IBAN to it by tapping on “Add IBAN to Space” in the settings. You can assign an IBAN to each Space a maximum of ten times.

You can now create a maximum of ten Spaces at N26. Each Space can be assigned an individual IBAN. Here, N26 promises more control when it comes to your own finances. However, the assignment of an IBAN cannot be done randomly. You have to keep in mind that after assigning three IBANs to the corresponding Spaces, there will be an IBAN block for 24 hours, so to speak. During the time limit you cannot assign another IBAN. Not only the sending of transfers, but also the receiving of them should be made much easier in the course of the update. Finally, you can have money sent specifically to one of your sub-accounts. If you want to use one of your sub-accounts for a bank transfer, an empty space does not matter. If the balance is not enough, N26 will automatically transfer from your main account.

More overview

Within the statistics, you can view the payment history as well as the history of the funds received. This feature is to be revised in the course of the update. Thus, N26 shows here from now on all payments that recur monthly. This is supposed to provide more of an overview, as you can keep an eye on recurring payments like rent. The feature of being able to assign IBANs to Spaces now opens up great possibilities. Owners of a corresponding account will surely be happy about this.
