Nacon RIG Pro Series: Three new headset series launch in Germany

At Nacon Connect 2022, the manufacturer has announced a total of three new headset series for Germany. The Nacon RIG Pro series includes the RIG 300 Pro models for consoles, two RIG 500 PRO devices and the particularly high-quality wireless Nacon RIG 800 Pro headsets.

Nacon RIG Pro 300: Three models for three consoles

The 300 models in the Nacon RIG Pro series rely on precisely tuned 40mm drivers that are said to deliver premium sound. However, thanks to large and noise-isolating earcups and a lightweight design, comfort should not be neglected either.

The headset is equipped with a foldable microphone and inline controls. The latter can be used to conveniently control the volume and mute. The headset can be adjusted to fit the user’s head in small, medium and large sizes.

At the same time, all three models are also compatible with other consoles, PCs and mobile devices thanks to 3.5mm jack connectors, but differ in terms of design. Specifically, the models are the RIG 300 PRO HS for PlayStation (in black and white), 300 PRO HX for Xbox (black or white) and 300 PRO HN for Nintendo Switch.

Above this, the new edition of the Nacon RIG Pro series 500 positions itself for all consoles and PC or notebook. Among the improvements over the previous models is a comfortable steel headband, which is not only extremely robust and flexible, but also lightweight.

Acoustically, the manufacturer once again relies on RIG-typical exoskeleton earcups that are equipped with low-distortion 50 mm drivers and are supposed to effectively isolate ambient noise. The manufacturer promises that the drivers have been specially tuned for an immersive sound experience.

Both models, the Nacon RIG 500 PRO HC Gen 2 and HA Gen 2, also offer 3D audio sound. They come with a 2-year code for Dolby Atmos to dive even deeper into surround sound. This puts them in competition, both technically and price-wise, with the outstanding Corsair HS65 Surround (our review).

The RIG 500 PRO HC is compatible with consoles as well as PCs and mobile devices with its universal 3.5mm connector. The 500 PRO HA is designed for PCs, but can also be used on consoles and features a Y-adapter.

Nacon RIG Pro Series: 800 PRO comes wireless

Wireless, on the other hand, presents the top model RIG 800 PRO in the variants HS (PlayStation), HX (Xbox) and HD (PC). They come with a new base station that is supposed to provide lag-free wireless sound. in addition, it is equipped with a removable wireless USB adapter that can be connected directly to a console.

Drivers with a size of 40 millimeters are used here, which also realize 3D surround sound. The 800 PRO HD and the 800 PRO HX feature Dolby Atmos for headphones. Thus, three-dimensional precision sound can be experienced by simply connecting the dock or wireless USB adapter to the PC or Xbox console.

Prices and Availability

The manufacturer has not commented on the availability of the Nacon RIG Pro series. Pricing starts from $29.99 for the RIG Pro 300 models, while the PRO 500 Gen 2 range starts from $69.99. The top-of-the-line Nacon RIG PRO 800, on the other hand, starts at $149.99.
