New case series from Corsair – 7000D Airflow and iCUE 7000X RGB

Corsair has not only released two new cases in the upper class, but also launched a new series. The two new cases are very different in appearance and with the new 7000 series Corsair now wants to release more cases in the upper class.

Full-tower cases with endless possibilities

The new cases from Corsair offer extreme usage possibilities and are primarily intended for enthusiasts. Thus, up to three 360 mm radiators can be accommodated and 420 mm and 480 mm radiators also find their place in the new cases. If users prefer cooling by means of fans, up to twelve 120-mm or seven 140-mm fans can be installed. Even large E-ATX mainboards have no problem finding space, and no compromises have to be made in terms of maximum graphics card length and CPU cooler height.

Optically absolutely different

The two new models are visually very different, so the Corsair 7000D Airflow is kept very discreet and rather unobtrusive, while targeting users who value good airflow and function. The Corsair iCUE 7000X RGB is a bit more obtrusive in terms of looks, so it comes with a glass front and impresses with four 140 mm A-RGB fans. Aside from the glass front, the iCUE 7000X RGB also comes with an iCUE-COMMANDER-CORE-XT controller. On the front and lid, the iCUE model has tempered glass surfaces so that the three fans are directly visible. On the Airflow model, perforated steel panels were used in the same places.

With just one handle, the bezels can be pulled off the case. Behind it is a textile front dust filter, which can be removed just as easily. The lid of the cases is just as user-friendly; here, too, the inserts are only clipped on and can thus be easily pulled off the case. The magnetic dust grids can then be pulled up with the yellow contrasting grip bottle. Underneath the dust grille are again removable fan and radiator shrouds, which are held in place by two thumbscrews. Optionally, three 120 mm or 140 mm fans can then be installed under the lid.

The new cases also play in a different league in terms of dimensions, so both weigh around 20 kg and reach a dimension of 248 x 600 x 550 mm (W x H x D).

Large scope of delivery

Both cases have so a lot included in the delivery, so there are instructions, safety instructions, mounting hardware, black cable ties and also Velcro for cable management. Optionally, there is a plastic insert for the PSU cover to create more space for the front radiator and a bezel for alternative expansion card slots. The Corsair 7000D Airflow also comes with an additional PWM extension cable.

More interesting, however, are the three illuminated iCUE SP140 RGB ELITE fans, which come pre-installed in the iCUE 7000X RGB. The Corsair 7000D Airflow, on the other hand, has two non-illuminated 140mm fans mounted behind the front.

Availability and Pricing

Pricing-wise, there is also a difference in the two cases so there is that Corsair 7000D Airflow at 259.90 euros in black and white and the Corsair iCUE 7000X RGB is said to cost 329.90 euros, also in black and white.
