New high-end keyboard and mice from Asus: ROG Claymore II and Gladius III

The new high-end keyboard ROG Claymore II and the new Gladius III mice from Asus were already presented at CES 2021. Now the ergonomic gaming mice and the flexible gaming keyboard are also available in stores.

Gaming keyboard for tactical advantage: ROG Claymore II

For unique gameplay with a custom setup, the new Asus ROG Claymore II delivers. The keyboard can be used as a 100 percent full-size keyboard with a number pad on the left or right side, or as an 80 percent TKL keyboard. A new slot-in design has been used so that the number pad has a secure and robust connection to the keyboard. At the same time, the keyboard has customizable keys, a removable palm rest and a volume control wheel. Equipped is the ROG Claymore II with the opto-mechanical RX Red switches, which were first used on the ROG Strix Scope RX gaming keyboard. The premium switches feature a hollow, square barrel design with embedded RGB LEDs for all-around per-key illumination.

To that end, the Claymore II is compatible with AURA Sync wireless technology, so the keyboard can be synchronized with other Aura-compatible components. For a smooth keystroke without “key wobble”, a hollow, square barrel and X-stabilizer mechanism are used. This brings a high durability of up to 100 million keystrokes. The keyboard can be used in 2.4 GHz wireless RF mode or wired mode. The response time of the gaming keyboard is only 1ms, whether used wirelessly or wired.

ROG Gladius III and ROG Gladius III Wireless

Also new are the Asus ROG Gladius III and ROG Gladius III Wireless ergonomic gaming mice, which offer unrivaled accuracy. The precision of the optical sensor ranges from 100 up to 26,000 dpi. This makes error-free scanning at up to 400 inches per second (ips) with 50 g acceleration feasible. The optical sensor’s polling rate is 1,000 Hz, regardless of connectivity. Up to five user profiles can be created on the Gladius III’s onboard memory.

The Gladius III series models have a unique Push Fit Switch Socket II design. This is compatible with Omron mechanical and optical microswitches, allowing instant key presses without unwanted (accidental) clicks. This is ensured by the tuned firmware and thus provides an advantage during gameplay. The flexible ROG Paracord and the rounded edges of the 100% TPFE mouse feet are responsible for particularly good gliding properties. At the same time, the classic asymmetrical design of the Gladius III has been designed for a variety of right-handed grip styles. To that end, the gaming mouse’s side panels are textured, non-slip, and feature laser-engraved ROG markings and RGB lighting. Additionally, a reinforced base ensures consistent button clicks and reduces wobble.

The wireless variant of the Asus ROG Gladius III offers tri-mode connectivity via an ultra-fast 2.4 GHz RF connection, energy-efficient Bluetooth LE, or wired USB. This makes it especially flexible, depending on what the user needs at the moment. Bluetooth Fast Pairing technology allows users to switch between three devices with one press of the pair button.

Availability and Prices

All of Asus’ new products are available now, with the ROG Claymore II expected to cost $279.90, the Gladius III Wireless $109.90 and the wired version of the Gladius III $89.90.
