New series of AiO watercoolers from MSI: MPG Coreliquid K-Series

MSI is expanding its line of Coreliquid AiO water coolers with the new K-Series. Kicking off the K-Series are the MPG Coreliquid K240 and K360 coolers, which feature a small fan on the pump to ventilate the surrounding components.

Pump unit from Asetek

For the different performance segments, MSI has brought out two radiator sizes in the K series, the MPG Coreliquid K240 and the MPG Coreliquid K360. In addition to the radiators being made of aluminum, MSI has relied on established technology from Asetek for the development. Asetek contributes the 7th generation of its pump unit, which is also used by other companies, for the two AiO water cooling systems. Here, the pump is enthroned above a base plate made of copper.

LC display and fan above the pump

To that end, MSI has also added its own touch to its Coreliquid AiO watercooling units. The pump unit of the MSI K series with a diameter of 60 mm has a fan in the pump housing, where the speed can be adjusted. Furthermore, there are openings for air circulation for better cooling of the CPU socket. The combination of openings and fan also cools the voltage converter.

In addition, the Coreliquid K240 and K360 have a 2.4-inch LC display attached. This displays the usual status information and also shows pictures or graphics if desired. With the display and the fan, the pump unit comes to a dimension of 94.7 × 83.4 × 94 mm (W × D × H) and requires a bit more space than normal.

New fans for higher performance

To top it off, MSI’s K-series Coreliquid AiO water coolers have been equipped with new fans with a 120 mm frame width, which offer higher performance compared to previous models. At the same time, the fans still shine in the RGB color space according to the personal credo. The fans of the AiO coolers are called “Torx Fan 4.0” by the manufacturer and their operating speed can be controlled individually. This can be done automatically via the predefined profiles in the control software or manually with the help of a controller. Even a complete standstill at low temperatures is feasible.

Compatibility

The MPG Coreliquid K240 and the MPG Coreliquid K360 water cooling systems can be mounted on all mainstream Intel and AMD sockets. There is also compatibility for the larger CPU mounts of the current HEDT platforms.

Availability and pricing

For the german market, the MPG Coreliquid K series have not yet been officially introduced by MSI, but the coolers can be purchased from some retailers. Thereby, the Coreliquid K240 is priced at around 220 Euros and the K360 is said to be available at 279 Euros.
