New tool: Canon cameras usable as webcams

Webcams are currently rare and the use of an SLR, system or compact camera is not always possible without detours. With the EOS Webcam Utility, Canon has now released a beta program that is intended to simplify use without the need for a capture card or similar.

With the Canon Clean HDMI Solution Canon has been offering a tool for cameras with HDMI output for quite some time. This is for example the case with the Canon EOS R. However, many cameras do not have such an output. For these cameras Canon now offers the EOS Webcam Utility. Here various Canon cameras can be connected to the PC via USB and used as a webcam. The program is currently still in beta and is only available for Windows. Further supported operating systems are to follow.
