Technical details and design
The Nintendo Switch 2 has a 7.9-inch LCD display that offers a full HD resolution of 1,920 × 1,080 pixels and supports HDR. The refresh rate of 120 Hz enables particularly smooth displays. In TV mode, the console can output compatible games in 4K resolution, although the refresh rate is limited to 60 Hz for UHD.
The Joy-Con controllers have been redesigned and are now magnetically attached to the console. They have larger buttons and an additional C-button that enables new functions. The console itself is equipped with 256 GB of internal memory, which can be expanded via microSD cards. An improved sound system with 3D audio and a more stable kickstand for tabletop mode are further new features.
Games on offer at launch
Several titles will be available at the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, including “Mario Kart World”, “Donkey Kong: Bananza” and “The Duskbloods”. The console will also be backwards compatible with games from the first Switch generation so that existing titles can continue to be used.
