Nio ET7 launches exclusively in the car subscription

The Nio ET7, the manufacturer’s first electric sedan, is also being launched in Germany. For the time being, however, the vehicle will be offered in this country exclusively in the Nio ET7 Auto-Abo.

Meanwhile, Chinese automaker Nio has revealed details of the German launch of its Nio ET7 e-sedan. The manufacturer’s first model will be available in this country from October 19, 2022. You won’t be able to buy it, though.

Because similar to Mercedes with the EQE, Nio relies on a subscription model. “NIO Subscription” is the name of the offer, which calls for a monthly price of at least 1,191.21 euros for the ET7 with a smaller 75 kWh battery.

Other designs are minimally more expensive, while the sedan with the larger 100 kWh capacity battery is available from 1,225.17 euros per month. Salty prices, but still well below those of the EQE.

The values apply for a term of 36 months, but can be adjusted. For example, there is a choice between 48 months, 12 months and a flexible one. A freely customizable term of between 12 and 60 months is also possible.

The subscription can be conveniently canceled every month – with just two weeks’ notice. This includes an all-inclusive package with maintenance, insurance, service and more. Included are, for example:

• 1,250 km per month
• Full comprehensive insurance with a 500 euro deductible
• Comprehensive service package with maintenance, winter tires, registration, loaner car and more
• Home delivery and return service
• Access to NIO Power Swap network incl. battery swap
• Access to public charging stations via the NIO App
• and more

The Nio ET7 in detail

The Nio ET7 is an electrically powered sedan with 480 kW of power that can realize a range of over 1,000 kilometers. With a length of 5.1 meters, a wheelbase of 3.06 meters and a width of 1.99 meters, the sedan offers plenty of space.

Inside, the sedan relies on modern technology and luxury appointments. Another special feature is an AI called NOMI. It is constantly being developed further, becoming more intelligent and thus understanding you better and better over time. With four microphone groups and a special NPU core, NOMI now has voice recognition with precise voice localization to enable seamless interaction.

The batteries can be replaced at the so-called Power Swap Stations (PSS) for free and within only about five minutes, with the change following automatically. The first battery swap station went into operation at the beginning of October on the A8 between Munich and Stuttgart at the Sortimo charging park, with more to follow.

As will more models from Nio. In 2023, the smaller sedan ET5, as well as the SUV Nio ES7, will also be launched in Germany.
