London-based technology company Nothing presents its first over-ear headphones, the Headphone (1) – a device that combines design and sound quality in a way rarely seen before. Developed in collaboration with renowned audio manufacturer KEF, the Headphone (1) promises an immersive, precise listening experience embedded in a striking, transparent design. Nothing is aimed not only at audiophiles, but also at anyone who sees technology as part of their personal style.
With the Headphone (1), Nothing combines technical sophistication, individual sound design and an eye-catching appearance – for music that is not just heard, but experienced.
- Acoustic excellence: 40 mm drivers, developed with KEF, deliver natural sound with depth and clarity
- Clear design concept: Transparent materials, aluminum, memory foam – comfort meets statement
- Intuitive operation: Physical controls for volume, ANC and media control
- Customizable: 8-band EQ, channel hop and AI-supported voice functions via Nothing X app
Sound redefined – in partnership with KEF
With over 60 years of high-fidelity experience, KEF is a great sounding partner for Nothing’s first over-ear model. The specially tuned 40 mm dynamic driver delivers powerful bass, balanced mids and brilliant highs – regardless of playback mode. Support for Hi-Res Audio, LDAC, wired use via USB-C or 3.5 mm jack and a low-distortion high-linearity suspension make the headphones a recommendation for even the most demanding ears.
One highlight is the integrated 3D audio with head tracking: movements of the wearer are recognized in real time and integrated into the sound experience – ideal for immersive content and gaming. At the same time, a sophisticated damping system ensures authentic sound that comes as close as possible to the original.
Focus on ease of use and style
Nothing deliberately dispenses with touch surfaces and instead relies on haptically defined control elements: roller, paddle and button. This control solution enables precise and reliable use – even without eye contact. The construction made of aluminum, robust plastic and oil-resistant PU foam stands for durability and wearing comfort. Telescopic temples and ergonomically shaped ear pads adapt to different head shapes and offer a secure fit even during longer sessions.
The transparent housing is more than just a design statement: it is an expression of the brand philosophy of making technology visible and accessible. The design follows functional principles – each line is acoustically based.
Active noise suppression with AI support
Four microphones (two feedforward, two feedback) provide dynamic active noise cancellation (ANC) that adapts to the environment in real time. The system is supplemented by a transparency mode that allows external noise to pass through when required – for example in traffic or in the office.

Clear communication is ensured by an AI-based ENC system with four microphones, trained with over 28 million speech scenarios. Even in noisy environments, the voice remains in focus – whether in meetings or gaming chats.
Smart functions for personalized audio
The sound can be individually adjusted via the Nothing X app using an 8-band EQ. Particularly exciting: the button on the headphones can be freely assigned – for quick app changes via channel hop, voice control or access to Essential Space, an exclusive tool for spontaneous voice memos and idea capture on Nothing devices.
Bluetooth 5.3, dual-device connectivity, Fast Pair and low latency round off the technical package. With the ANC function activated, the headphones achieve up to 35 hours of battery life – a 5-minute quick charge enables over two hours of music enjoyment.
Conclusion: style meets substance
With the Headphone (1), Nothing has made a strong entry into the over-ear segment: outstanding sound, consistent design and intuitive operation make the headphones an exciting product for all those who not only want to hear technology, but also experience it.
