Nubert nuPro XS-8500 RC: High-end soundbar with 820 watts and 3D audio

Soundbars come in all shapes, colors, sizes and price ranges. From the inexpensive Sharp HT-SB100 for 69 euros to the Harman Kardon Citation MultiBeam 1100 including Dolby Atmos. With the Nubert nuPro XS-8500 RC, the manufacturer now presents a new high-end soundbar that promises an impressive sound and, in terms of total output of 820 watts, significantly outperforms the Harman Kardon model.

The Nubert nuPro XS-8500 RC in detail

The new Nubert nuPro XS-8500 RC marks the most powerful and most powerful soundbar yet from the German manufacturer based in beautiful Schwäbisch Gmünd. In the process, the nuPro platform, which is home to various active speakers and soundbars, is said to have been improved once again in the areas of sound, features and technology in the new model.

Issued goal of the manufacturer was, according to its own statement, “to create a replacement for the bulky surround system, with even higher HiFi claim to sound and volume”. As promising as that sounds, the technology turns out to be impressive.

In the Nubert nuPro XS-8500 RC, two tweeters with silk fabric dome (25 mm diameter), a full four woofers with polypropylene cone (119 mm) and two woofers with polypropylene cone (diameter: 204 mm) do their job.

Combined, they offer a maximum music output of 820 watts and should be able to easily replace even large surround systems. The manufacturer puts the rated power at 580 watts (4x 90W and 2x 110 watts).

Thanks to X-Connect Surround Sound, the playback of 3D audio via Dolby Atmos and DTS:X via HDMI eArc connection even takes place in a 48kHz/24bit resolution. With up to eight complementary active speaker models, even flexible and wireless 7.1.4 playback is possible.

In addition, the nuPro XS-8500 RC offers Bluetooth connectivity, enabling playback of content in the aptX HD codec via smartphone, for example, and supports the aptX Low Latency standard of modern smart TV devices.

Impressive sound, classy design

The Nubert nuPro XS-8500 RC soundbar is designed to reproduce sound linearly and transparently exactly as the original signal dictates. This is achieved, among other things, by the arrangement of the speakers in the soundbar, which is supposed to improve the spatiality.

There are also some exciting features, such as Voice+ technology, which improves the intelligibility of speech with a single click. Adaptive Loudness allows automatic bass adjustment at low volumes, while you can tune the sound yourself using the 5-band EQ.

X-Room Calibration also lets you calibrate the room for more bass control and better sound in general. The soundbar is not only controlled via the buttons on the device itself or the included remote control, but also conveniently with the free Nubert X-Remote app for iOS and Android.

The soundbar itself is 120 cm wide, 16.8 cm high with stands and 39 cm deep with amplifier. Thanks to a particularly robust, solidly braced case, not only the sound is optimized. This makes the 32.5 kg nuPro XS-8500 RC so stable that you can even place TVs weighing up to 100 kg on the soundbar.

From a purely visual point of view, we rely on a lacquer surface, optionally in black or white color scheme, as well as a 10 mm thin magnetic cover together with transparent fabric, which also allows a good readability of the OLED display. In addition to the HDMI eARC connector, you have two optical Toslink connectors, as well as stereo cinch and S/PDIF.

The high-end Nubert nuPro XS-8500 RC soundbar is available for pre-order now directly from the manufacturer and is expected to be available in mid-August 2022. An order is currently only possible by prepayment (payable shortly before the start of delivery). The recommended retail price is 1,969 euros.
