Nubia Red Magic 6: Snapdragon 888, OLED and 165 Hz at a bargain price

The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Nubia, which is rather unknown in this country, has announced an exciting smartphone in the form of the Red Magic 6. Looking at the specs, such as a Snapdragon 888 and a 165 Hz OLED display, you would expect a real flagship at a correspondingly high price. However, Nubia takes a different approach with its Red Magic 6 and Red Magic 6 Pro. A real price-performance hit is supposed to hit the market here.

Delivery as early as mid-April

The Chinese clientele was informed about the imminent release of the smartphones at the beginning of March. At that time, it was still thought that the new devices would remain China-exclusive, at least for the time being. Now it turns out that European customers will also be able to enjoy the value-for-money devices. It should be possible to place a pre-order here as well starting April 9. The delivery of the device is supposed to start on April 15. Apart from the specs, the price is convincing in the first place. The Red Magic 6 with 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage can be purchased for just 599 Euros (~$599). The Pro version with 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage will cost 699 Euros. Considering the features, that is really impressive.

Nothing for individualists

Unfortunately, the device is only available in the colors Eclipse Black and Moon Silver as well as two equipment variants for now – In this country at least. After all, you can also get the top model with 18 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage in the Far East. It is still uncertain when and if this version will also be launched in Germany. However, you should also be able to enjoy decent performance with the other two models. This is probably true even for demanding gamers. The Snapdragon 888 from Qualcomm scores first here. Thanks to an active fan, this performance guarantor is guaranteed not to sweat quickly.

But aside from the impressive performance, Nubia also wants to score with a great display. The AMOLED display has a diagonal of 6.8 inches and offers a resolution of 1,080p+. However, the refresh rate of 165 Hz sounds particularly exciting. This should ensure picture reproduction without annoying jerks. Beyond that, a triple camera with a main camera (64 MP), ultra-wide-angle camera (8 MP) and a macro camera (2 MP) should ensure great photos. The touch-sensitive shoulder buttons also sound exciting. They should prove to be extremely practical especially when gaming. A fast charging function is also on board. The 5,000 mAh battery can be charged with up to 65 watts. The battery in the Pro model is a bit smaller with 4,500 mAh, but you should be able to charge it with up to 120 watts. A full charge is supposed to be possible in only 12 minutes.
