With the new Nuki Keypad 2.0 you can open the smart lock products of the manufacturer from now on not only with the help of a six-digit code, but also securely, comfortably and quickly via fingerprint sensor.
Nuki Keypad 2.0 with fingerprint sensor
Those who call a Nuki Smart Lock 2.0, 3.0, 3.0 Pro or even the Nuki Smart Door their own can now also open them via fingerprint scan. This is made possible by the new Nuki Keypad 2.0, which features a powerful processor that enables precise fingerprint recognition in about one second. It takes just under three seconds for the door to open.
This means you can unlock the door without having to use a smartphone or smartwatch. The fingerprint scanner even works with children from preschool age and learns along with them. To ensure that access works optimally by fingerprint scan on a permanent basis, the data record is supplemented with every successful opening.
Large memory for fingerprints and codes
Unlocking the door is possible either by fingerprint scan or by using a six-digit numeric code thanks to the Nuki Keypad 2.0. Up to 20 fingerprints and 200 codes can be stored in the integrated memory.
Fingerprints are enrolled using the Nuki app by placing the desired finger on the sensor of the Keypad 2.0 several times and are assigned a freely selectable name in the app. Authorizations are stored directly on the smart lock and not on the keypad – this provides additional security.
Just like the first-generation keypad, Keypad 2.0 only has keys for the digits 1 to 9, but no 0. According to the manufacturer, this additionally increases security: “The lack of 0 means that most birthdays are omitted as a code. In fact, many people choose a birthday or anniversary when using a six-digit code,” Nuki said.
12 months runtime with standard batteries
The Nuki Keypad 2.0 is powered by four standard AAA batteries, which are said to last around 12 months with average use. The keypad is simply glued to a smooth surface and detached from the mounting plate to change the batteries.
Price and Availability
The Nuki Keypad 2.0 is to be offered shortly in the online store of the manufacturer, among other places. The RRP is 159 Euros, the first generation without fingerprint scanner costs 79 Euros.
