The Nvidia App 11.0.9 is here and brings two significant new features for all owners of a GeForce RTX graphics card: DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction is now available for all RTX generations, and Resizable BAR can now be enabled or disabled individually for each game. We’ll show you what these two features offer and how to enable them.

What’s new in the NVIDIA App 11.0.9?

Nvidia updated the app to version 11.0.9 in early September 2026. The update focuses on an improved AI model for Ray Reconstruction and more granular control over Resizable BAR. In addition, the list of games with DLSS override and Optimal Settings support has grown, and a few persistent bugs have been fixed.

DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction: One Model for All RTX Generations

Ray Reconstruction replaces the classic denoiser in ray-tracing and path-tracing games with an AI model designed to significantly reduce image noise and artifacts. According to Nvidia, DLSS 4.5 uses a transformer-based approach that produces cleaner reflections, shadows, and lighting than the previous CNN-based variant.

The difference from earlier releases: The new model is available not only for the current RTX 50 series, but for all GeForce RTX graphics cards, from the Turing generation (RTX 20) through Ampere (RTX 30) and Ada Lovelace (RTX 40) to Blackwell (RTX 50). Anyone still using the old CNN version of Ray Reconstruction should notice the difference especially in dark scenes with lots of reflections.

GPU Generation Series DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction
Turing RTX 20 Supported
Ampere RTX 30 Supported
Ada Lovelace RTX 40 Supported
Blackwell RTX 50 Supported

How to Enable DLSS 4.5 Ray Reconstruction

The change is made centrally through the NVIDIA App and no longer needs to be configured individually in each game:

  1. Open the NVIDIA App and go to Graphics → Program Settings
  2. Select the desired game and open the driver settings
  3. Under DLSS Override / Model Presets , select the “Recommended” option

This way, NVIDIA automatically applies the latest recommended model for Super Resolution, Frame Generation, and Ray Reconstruction. This eliminates the need for manual updates with every DLSS update.

Resizable BAR Now Configurable on a Per-Game Basis

Resizable BAR (ReBAR for short) allows the CPU to directly access the graphics card’s entire VRAM rather than just small memory blocks, which results in noticeably better performance in many games. The problem: In some games, ReBAR actually causes frame rate drops. Until now, the feature could only be toggled globally in the Nvidia app. Now you can enable or disable it individually for each game, which bypasses this exact problem.

Here’s how to configure Resizable BAR on a per-game basis

  1. Graphics → OpenProgram Settings
  2. Select the game, then open driver settings
  3. Toggle the switch next to Resizable BAR

Compatible hardware is still required: The motherboard and CPU must support ReBAR, and the feature must be enabled in the UEFI/BIOS. Nvidia also maintains a whitelist, so the option remains disabled by default in games that have not been thoroughly tested or are incompatible.

Other New Features in the Update

In addition to the two main features, version 11.0.9 includes several minor but useful additions:

  • DLSS override support has expanded to over 35 titles, including Halo: Campaign Evolved, Subnautica 2, and NBA 2K27
  • Optimal Playable Settings profiles for 10 additional games, including Painkiller RTX and Onimusha: Way of the Sword
  • A new notification badge for newly available features, as well as quick access options in the sidebar
  • A toggle for the Windows right-click context menu entry on the desktop
  • Support for borderless windowed mode in Optimal Playable Settings
  • Bug fixes, including for game filters in Battlefield 4, multi-GPU video playback, color output of the Photo Mode Super Resolution feature, and per-application image sharpening

With this update, Nvidia is once again consolidating features—which were previously spread across GeForce Experience, the driver itself, and various add-on programs—into a single app. This trend was also evident recently when Nvidia discontinued support for older 32-bit drivers and shifted its focus more strongly toward the app platform.

Conclusion

What’s truly remarkable about this update isn’t DLSS 4.5 itself, but the fact that Nvidia is making it available to all RTX generations instead of reserving it—as is usually the case—as a selling point for the latest series. So anyone who still has an RTX 2070 or 3060 in their computer will get a real image-quality upgrade—without needing a new graphics card. The Resizable BAR option, which can be adjusted on a per-game basis, is the less spectacular but equally useful change in everyday use: It eliminates exactly the compromise that the global setting previously forced.

After the update, it’s worth taking a quick look at the driver settings for your most important games—the new presets can be enabled with just a few clicks. If you haven’t installed the app yet, you can download it directly from the official Nvidia app page. Existing installations will automatically be offered the update to version 11.0.9.
