NVIDIA has recently released the GeForce 572.24 hotfix driver to address specific issues encountered by users of Windows 11 and the new GeForce RTX 5080 graphics card. This hotfix follows the previously released Game Ready driver 572.16 and aims to improve the user experience.
Key features of the GeForce 572.24 hotfix driver:
- Fix crashes in Valorant: users of the GeForce RTX 5080 reported crashes when launching the game. This issue has been fixed.
- Stability improvements for Final Fantasy XVI on Windows 11 23H2: A bug that caused the PC to freeze when exiting the game has been fixed.
The previously released Game Ready driver 572.16 brought support for new G-Sync compatible monitors, official support for games such as “Kingdom Come Deliverance 2” and “Marvel’s Spider-Man 2” as well as preparations for DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation (MFG). The current hotfix driver 572.24 builds on these functions and focuses on fixing the problems mentioned.
The complete release notes and the download link for the GeForce 572.24 hotfix driver can be found on the official NVIDIA website.
This update demonstrates NVIDIA’s commitment to responding quickly to user feedback and continuously improving the stability and performance of its products. However, the manufacturer does not yet have the bricking problems with the RTX 5090 under control: According to reports such as those from WCCFTech, the RTX 5090 can experience so-called “bricking” incidents, in which the GPU becomes unusable. The exact causes are still unclear, but faulty drivers, BIOS incompatibilities and possible PCIe problems are suspected. Models from the manufacturers Colorful, Gigabyte and Manli are currently affected.
