Optoma DualCore ZU1300 and ZU1100: New laser projectors with 14,400 lumens

With the Optoma DualCore ZU1300 and ZU1100, the manufacturer has introduced two new professional laser projectors that primarily want to score with their outstanding brightness. They have 14,400 and 11,500 lumens, respectively, and offer a maximum WUXGA resolution.

The new Optoma DualCore ZU1300 marks a powerful laser projector in the manufacturer’s portfolio. It comes with an impressive brightness of 14,400 lumens and 12,000 ANSI lumens, respectively, while the ZU1100 has to settle for “only” 11,500 lumens and 9,600 ANSI lumens, respectively.

Apart from that, the two laser projectors do not differ from each other. They have a contrast ratio of 2,000,000:1 and display the image in a maximum 16:10 format. However, 16:9 or 4:3 are also possible.

Common to both models is the WUXGA resolution of 1,920 x 1,200 pixels, which is achieved via DLP technology. Both laser projectors also offer +/- 20 degrees of horizontal and vertical keystone correction and 90 percent uniformity.

Replaceable lenses

Another special feature of both models is that they have a total of seven interchangeable lenses, making them suitable for use as ultra-short-throw laser projectors, for example.

They are also IP6X protected against dust and, thanks to HDBaseT ncompressed Full HD video, audio, network and control commands are sent over just one CAT-type cable and over a range of up to 100 meters.

Accurate sRGB color representation and a special color management system that allows accurate color adjustment are promised. Thanks to Light Sensing technology, a constant brightness is supposed to be offered that doesn’t change over a longer period of time.

Images can be projected along the horizontal axis over 360 degrees and 3D content display is also possible.

The Optoma DualCore ZU1300 and ZU1100 each offer two HDMI, one 3D Sync, one DVI-D, one HDBaseT, one 3G-SGI, and one RJ45 port. Built-in are high-quality laser light sources that are said to last up to 30,000 hours.

The manufacturer has yet to provide details on pricing and availability of Optoma’s laser projectors, the DualCore ZU1300 and ZU1100.
