If you want to retrofit your wired CarPlay, Ottocast is pretty much your only option. At IFA 2026 in Berlin (Hall 6.2, Booth 109), the company—founded in Hong Kong in 2009—is showcasing its broadest portfolio to date, ranging from redesigned wireless adapters to a brand-new security series called OttoSafe and AI-powered AI Boxes. basic-tutorials.de was right there at the booth and got a first-hand look at all the new products.

Otto Wireless – Wireless CarPlay Adapters in Various Sizes

Ottocast’s core product is a line of adapters that convert wired CarPlay or Android Auto into a wireless connection: simply plug it into the car stereo’s USB port, pair it with your smartphone once—and the phone will connect automatically the next time you start the car. According to the company, the range is said to be so extensive that the connection is reliably established even if you briefly step out of the car at a gas station. The connection typically takes only three to five seconds to establish when you get back in the car.

Current models at IFA include the Mini Cube 3.0 (starting at 45.99 euros) for CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as the even more compact Mini NOVA. For CarPlay-only users, there’s the U2AIR Pro; for Android Auto users, the A2AIR Pro.

New and eye-catching: Ottocast has announced a deliberately larger model for Q4 2026. Compact adapters can get hot during long drives, which in some cases leads to connection drops. The new device is designed to dissipate heat more effectively thanks to a larger housing, while also storing up to two devices in its memory—according to the manufacturer, a later version will support up to five devices. Depending on the model, Bluetooth 5.0 or 6.0 is used.

The Otto Wireless series is compatible with all vehicles that support factory-installed wired CarPlay or Android Auto. BMW is an exception, as Wireless CarPlay is already standard there.

OttoSafe – New Safety Series Makes Its Debut at IFA 2026

The real highlight of the trade show appearance is the new OttoSafe product line, which Ottocast is unveiling to the public for the first time at IFA 2026. So far, it consists of three products with different focuses.

OttoSafe Knob – Physical rotary control for distraction-free driving

Modern vehicles are increasingly replacing traditional buttons with large touchscreens. The problem: Drivers have to take their eyes off the road to adjust the playlist or volume. The OttoSafe Knob is a physical twist-and-push control that connects via plug-and-play to compatible Ottocast adapters. It allows users to operate CarPlay functions by feel—such as accessing navigation, changing tracks, or adjusting the volume—without looking at the display. Ottocast has not yet announced specific availability or pricing details.

Cabin Care – Redesigned Rear-Seat Camera with Dual-Platform Support

The redesigned Cabin Care is intended for parents of young children or pet owners. A camera inside the vehicle transmits an HD image of the backseat directly to the infotainment display—either in split-screen mode next to the navigation or via picture-in-picture. This means drivers on the highway no longer have to turn their heads to check on their child.

The new model features a newer automotive chip, more RAM, and an improved Bluetooth module. Key new feature: Cabin Care now functions as a dual bridge, converting both wired CarPlay and Android Auto into wireless connections—making it a full-fledged wireless adapter for both platforms. Current price: 109.99 euros.

OttoSafe Cam – 2-in-1 dashcam and wireless CarPlay adapter

The OttoSafe Cam combines a dashcam with a wireless CarPlay adapter in a single unit. The camera feed can be displayed directly on the vehicle’s screen—useful as evidence in the event of accidents and for documentation purposes. According to Ottocast, the product is primarily aimed at new drivers, frequent drivers, and fleet operators. Price: starting at 129.99 euros.

Otto Plus – AI Boxes for Full-Featured Android in the Car

With the Otto Plus series, Ottocast offers devices that bring a full Android operating system to the factory-installed CarPlay display. The flagship OttoAibox P3 Pro allows users to download any apps from the Google Play Store—including streaming services and navigation apps. A built-in SIM slot (CloudSIM) also provides standalone data access without a smartphone. AI voice control allows you to execute commands such as splitting the screen—for example, navigation on the left and YouTube on the right.

According to the company, Ottocast was one of the first providers of this type of AI box worldwide in 2022. The P3 Pro is currently available starting at 199.99 euros and has been featured by TechRadar and PCMag, among others.

Also in the product lineup: the Play2Video Ultra, a 3-in-1 adapter that combines wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, and its own app hub—starting at 89.99 euros.

Otto Media – Bidirectional Screen Mirroring via Cable

With the Mirror Touch, Ottocast takes a slightly different approach: A cable connects the iPhone directly to the adapter, which mirrors the entire screen content onto the car stereo display—including bidirectional control. When you scroll on the infotainment display, the smartphone scrolls as well. According to the company, this works with an iPhone 15 and is limited to CarPlay-compatible stereos.

Ottoscreen – Displays for Vehicles Without Infotainment

For vehicles without CarPlay or a modern car stereo, Ottocast offers portable displays with the ScreenFlow and the Ottoscreen AI. The Ottoscreen AI brings CarPlay, Android Auto, and an AI assistant to a standalone 9-inch touchscreen—starting at 159.99 euros. A backup camera can also be connected.

Ottocast unveiled a significantly expanded lineup at IFA 2026. The new OttoSafe series, featuring a physical rotary control, an HD rear-seat camera, and a 2-in-1 dashcam, demonstrates that the company is specifically focusing on driving safety—an issue that is gaining importance in the European market.
