Philips 27E1N5600HE and 24E1N5300HE: New monitors including 5 MP webcam

After the two new gaming monitors of the Momentum series that Philips introduced at the beginning of the month, two “work and play” displays now follow. The Philips 27E1N5600HE and 24E1N5300HE rely on a well-thought-out design and are said to be ideally suited for office tasks, not least thanks to the integrated 5-megapixel webcam.

Philips 27E1N5600HE and 24E1N5300HE: Features and Details

First of all, the two new monitors Philips 27E1N5600HE and 24E1N5300HE differ in terms of size. But the two monitors also differed in terms of resolution. The 27E1N5600HE comes with a 27-inch (68.6 cm) IPS panel and relies on a QHD resolution (2,560 x 1,440 pixels), while the 24E1N5300HE is a bit smaller with 23.8 inches or 60.5 cm and relies on Full HD (1,920 x 1,080 pixels).

Otherwise, however, the two displays share much of their specifications. “The Philips 27E1N5600HE and 24E1N5300HE monitors are an ideal choice for those who want it all – and in a clean design,” reveals Artem Khomenko, senior product manager Europe at MMD Monitors & Displays.

75 Hz, speakers and ergonomics

Both Philips monitors come in at a refresh rate of 75 hertz and offer a gray-to-grey response time of 4 milliseconds, as well as 1 MS MPRT. The brightness is 300 cd/m², and the contrast ratio is a typical 1,000:1 – however, there is no DisplayHDR certification.

Interesting: The Philips 24E1N5300HE also supports AMD FreeSync technology, which improves the picture quality of games by preventing tearing. In contrast, the manufacturer only talks about Adaptive Sync for the Philips 27E1N5600HE. Furthermore, both displays offer SmartImage gaming image optimization.

The LowBlue mode and the FlickerFree technology additionally protect the eyes and prevent fatigue. There are also stereo speakers built into the display, each with 5 watts of power.

Accordingly, the IPS monitors offer a particularly high viewing angle of 178 degrees from all directions and are supposed to provide outstanding sharpness along with vivid colors. In addition, there is the Compact Ergo stand, which allows ergonomic positioning of the displays. They are swivel, tilt (between -5° and 20°) and height adjustable (up to 130 mm) and also offer a pivot function to rotate the monitor 90 degrees.

Special features: USB-C and Windows Hello webcam

The Philips 27E1N5600HE and 24E1N5300HE also offer a powered USB-C connection. With smart and flexible power management, you can charge your compatible device directly. Conveniently, the USB-C port even rotates for easy connection. This allows you to display high-resolution content while powering the connected device with 65 watts of PowerDelivery.

To minimize cable clutter, both monitors feature cable management in the stand. Picture adjustments are made using a handy EasySelect menu button on the back, which acts as a joystick for quick and easy adjustments.

Another special feature of both monitors is the integrated webcam, which comes with a resolution of 5 megapixels. The webcam is certified for Windows Hello and thus allows logging into the Windows interface in less than 2 seconds. The webcam can be covered manually for additional privacy. This is joined by an integrated microphone including noise cancelling, which is supposed to effectively block out background noise.

Price and Availability

The two new monitors, Philips 27E1N5600HE and Philips 24E1N5300HE, are scheduled to make their way to retailers in mid-June 2022. In terms of price, they are priced at an MSRP of €439.00 for the 27E1N5600HE, and €329.00 for the 24E1N5300HE, respectively. More information and the full spec sheet can be found on the manufacturer’s product websites for the 27E1 and 24E1, respectively.
