Philips 288E2UAE: 28-inch 4K monitor unveiled

With the 288E2UAE, Philips license partner MMD presents a 28-inch 4K monitor that is supposed to be suitable for both professional and private use with a high pixel density and some additional features.

Technical Features

Relying on an IPS panel, the device can display 1.07 billion colors, offers a wide viewing angle and works with Ultra-Clear technology. With a multi-view function, it is supposed to be suitable for professional use: It allows displaying the content of two devices simultaneously in Picture-in-Picture as well as Picture-by-Picture mode. This means that it is primarily geared towards the needs of the creative industry.

The device is also equipped with a four-port USB 3.2 hub, which has one USB upstream and four USB downstream ports. These features allow users to connect a mouse and keyboard directly to the screen. One of the available USB ports also supports fast charging of connected devices and meets the requirements of the USB-IF standard. In addition, there are HDMI and DisplayPort ports.

Design

Visually, the monitor’s thin bezel is particularly striking, making the device look quite petite overall. In addition, there is an adjustable stand, which ensures that the monitor can be tilted at angles between -5 and +20 degrees. It can also be adjusted in height. There is a margin of 100 millimeters here.

Sustainability

However, the screen not only wants to convince technically and ergonomically, but also with its sustainability. Thus, the device complies with RoHS standards and has both an EnergyStar 8.0 and a TCO certification. Lead and mercury are not found in the 288E2UAE. The packaging the device comes in is also made of completely recyclable material.

Price and availability

The new monitor will be available from February. The recommended retail price is 329 euros.
