Philips brings monitor with IPS panel and practical docking station

With the 243B1JH, Philips wants to launch an exciting monitor for business users soon. The features of the device are supposed to be similar to those of the Philips B-Line 243B1. Thus, the manufacturer also relies on a screen diagonal of 23.8 inches and an IPS panel that resolves with 1,920 x 1,080 pixels (Full HD). A refresh rate of 75 Hz, a contrast of 1,000:1 and a brightness of 250 cd/m² round off the package.

Perfectly suited for business users

Philips itself states in its spec sheet that the upcoming monitor should be able to cover 105 percent of the sRGB color space. Thus, it should even be interesting for creative professionals who are mainly busy with image and/or video editing. Adaptive Sync is also on board to prevent tearing. Thus, the 243B1JH can also be used for one or two gaming sessions after work. However, the fact that the main focus is on the business sector also becomes clear in the comfort features. Philips relies on a very eye-friendly display. In addition to a flicker-free backlight, the reduction of blue light is supposed to ensure that you don’t have headaches even after long workdays. The integrated speakers with 3 watts also make external speakers irrelevant. Unless you value good sound.

Good adjustability

Ergonomic customization options are especially important in the business sector. And Philips’ newcomer definitely seems to have these. Not only can the monitor’s tilt, height and rotation be adjusted. It also offers a practical pivot mode and a VESA mount of 100 mm x 100 mm. The connectivity should also be more than enough for most users. Here, Philips relies on HDMI 1.4, DisplayPort 1.4, RJ-45, headphone jack and a USB 3.2 hub. The USB-C port is particularly practical. It can not only be used to connect notebooks. On top of that, the connected devices can be charged with up to 100 watts.

In addition, the Philips 243B1JH has a full HD webcam (2 megapixels) and an integrated microphone. Thus, the monitor is also perfect for video conferencing. If you leave out the stand, the monitor weighs 3.27 kg and measures 540 mm x 323 mm x 51 mm.

Price and Availability

This appears to be a more than solid monitor for the office or home office. The Philips 243B1JH is already listed at some retailers by now. While Philips itself states an MSRP of 419 Euros, the monitor can already be found at prices around 400 Euros at some retailers.
