The Philips Hue Sync TV app brings the principle of the Ambilight effect to all compatible LG televisions. Instead of relying on a physical TV backlight, the app enables direct control of all connected Philips Hue lamps in the room.
Thanks to Signify’s proprietary synchronization algorithm, the lamps react at lightning speed to the TV picture so that films, series, games and music videos are brought to life with coordinated colors and brightness levels. It doesn’t matter whether the content is played via a streaming app such as Netflix or Disney+, a set-top box, a Blu-ray player or a games console – the synchronization works seamlessly.
Optimized for LG Smart TVs with webOS 24
The new app has been specially developed for LG TVs from 2024 with webOS 24 or newer. This ensures that picture-to-light synchronization takes place directly on the TV without additional hardware. Previously, a separate Philips Hue Sync Box device was required for this effect – with the new native app, this intermediate step is no longer necessary.
The supported TV models also benefit from broad format support, including HDR10 and Dolby Vision, to maintain the best possible color and contrast ratio.
