Pictar Smart-Light Stick: High-end selfie stick at Kickstarter

A few years ago Selfie-Sticks saw the light of day. It got to the point where you could no longer be ignored from vacation spots. But bit by bit they disappeared from everyday life. The manufacturer “Pictar” wants to herald a renaissance of the Selfie-Sticks with its Smart-Light Stick. In doing so, they want to secure many supporters on Kickstarter thanks to many practical features.

Wide angle cameras displaced Selfie-Sticks

In the meantime, people who use Selfie-Sticks are seen less and less in public. But how did it come about that Selfie-Sticks are used less and less? A decisive reason is probably the better cameras of smartphones. Cameras with wide-angle effect make sure that the smartphone does not need the necessary distance to the motif. The arm length is often sufficient to achieve the right effect. Accordingly, a Selfie-Stick is no longer needed as an artificial arm extension.

The motor is operated via the control unit, which adjusts the angle of the smartphone.

Pictar wants to produce next generation of selfie sticks

With the Smart-Light Stick, Pictar does not want to advertise a vile arm extension. The Selfie-Stick should rather convince with mature and above all practical features. It is not without reason that Pictar calls its new product the next generation of selfie sticks. The manufacturer focuses on three main points – light, angle and control. Various buttons on the handle allow full control of the photo app. For example, you can zoom and adjust the brightness.

Tense features

The list of built-in features is long. For example, the Smart-Light Selfie Stick offers a removable light whose brightness can be adjusted in three stages. But not only brightness, but also the angle of the lamp can be adjusted. It is conveniently attached by magnet. The control unit on the handle of the Selfie Stick offers full control over the smartphone. So you don’t have to reach for the phone itself. The angle of the phone is adjusted by a separate motor. Pictar relies on an ultrasonic connection between smartphone and selfie stick. This is to save battery power.

The practical light is attached by magnet.

Price and availability

The next-generation Selfie Stick should be compatible with both iPhone and Android devices. The Kickstarter campaign has just started and there the Selfie-Stick costs 85 US Dollar, but there are also Early Bird discounts available. In the retail sector, 99 US dollars will be called later.
