Poco is bringing two new upper-mid-range smartphones to Europe: the F9 Pro and the F9 Ultra. According to recent leaks, the models will start at 799 and 999 euros, respectively, and feature a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5, an OLED display with a refresh rate of up to 185 Hz, and a 200-MP main camera with optical image stabilization. Technically, these are the European versions of the Chinese Redmi K100 series, though with smaller batteries.

If looking at the spec sheets reminds you of the Redmi Note 17 Pro or other current Xiaomi models, you’re not entirely wrong: According to Roland Quandt of WinFuture, the Poco F9 Pro and F9 Ultra are technically nearly identical to the Redmi K100 Pro and K100 Pro Max, which Xiaomi unveiled in China on August 11, 2026. This approach is a tradition at Poco: Earlier models in the F series were essentially rebranded Redmi flagships for the international market.
The most noticeable difference from the original Chinese models concerns the battery. While the K100 models in China are equipped with significantly larger cells, the EU versions have to make do with smaller capacities—apparently a compromise made for regulatory or cost reasons. Buyers are still expected to pay more for the scaled-back specs. WinFuture notes that even a manufacturer focused on affordable prices like Xiaomi can no longer fully offset the increased memory costs on the market. This is a trend currently observable among just about every smartphone manufacturer.
Prices and Availability in Europe
According to consistent reports, European prices are as follows:

Neither storage variant is expandable, so a microSD card cannot be added later. Poco has not yet confirmed an official launch date, but according to current leaks, the launch is likely to take place soon, as the Chinese sister models are already on sale.
Display: Plastic OLED with up to 185 Hz from TCL CSOT
Both models feature a Plastic-OLED panel with a refresh rate of up to 185 Hz. The Poco F9 Pro measures 6.59 inches with QHD resolution, while the F9 Ultra is slightly larger at 6.85 inches with a resolution of 2608 x 1200 pixels. According to WinFuture, the Chinese supplier TCL CSOT developed the panels specifically for Xiaomi, including custom material compositions for better image quality. Anyone who has ever used a mid-range display like the one in the Redmi Note 15 Pro can therefore expect another noticeable leap forward here.
Camera: 200-MP main sensor with optical zoom
Both models share a main sensor with approximately 200 megapixels, an f/1.68 aperture, and optical image stabilization (OIS). However, the Pro and Ultra differ significantly in their other lenses:
- The F9 Pro combines the main sensor with an 8-MP ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50-MP telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom (60 mm focal length, f/2.0, OIS).
- The F9 Ultra features a significantly more powerful 50-MP ultra-wide-angle lens as well as a 50-MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom (120 mm focal length, f/3.0, OIS) and also records video in 8K at 30 fps.
Both devices feature a 32-MP front-facing camera. The F9 Ultra also comes with an LED notification ring surrounding the camera module, a feature more commonly found on Nothing smartphones.
Battery, Charging, and Features
Despite having smaller capacities compared to those in China, the batteries are still large by European standards: 6,330 mAh for the F9 Pro and 8,050 mAh for the F9 Ultra. Both models support charging at up to 100 watts via USB Power Delivery. Water and dust resistance is ensured by an IP69 certification, which can even withstand high-pressure washers and hot water. Until now, this level of protection has been more common in outdoor devices than in sleek flagship smartphones.
Corning Gorilla Glass 7i is used as the protective glass, and the body consists of a metal frame with glass-fiber-reinforced plastic on the back. Both models also feature a specially tuned Bose speaker, which is built into the back next to the camera module. Color options include black, white, green, and red.

Verdict: Is it worth switching to the F9 series?
On paper, the F9 series reads like a classic Poco flagship: plenty of power, large displays, and an impressive camera setup—all at a price lower than Samsung’s or Apple’s established top-tier models. For those who have typically opted for the more affordable Poco models, the F9 Pro and F9 Ultra offer, for the first time, true flagship hardware from Poco, including a top-of-the-line Snapdragon chip and powerful camera capabilities.
At the same time, however, a comparison with the Chinese Redmi K100 models also shows that Poco has to make compromises in Europe: smaller batteries paired with higher prices. Whether this will ultimately be worth it can only be seriously assessed after the official launch and a detailed review. Until then, the specifications mentioned remain leaked information—which, while coming from a source considered reliable, has not yet been officially confirmed by Poco.
