Porsche Design and AGON by AOC unveil PD27S gaming monitor

Following the AOC PRO PD32M from April 2022, Porsche Design and AGON by AOC are teaming up for another gaming monitor. The PD27S relies on a 27-inch display, a resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels and 165 Hz.

The PD27S in detail

The sports car look goes into the next round. Following the 32-inch PD32M, Porsche Design and AGON by AOC have unveiled another gaming monitor called the PD27S. It relies on an IPS panel with a screen diagonal of 27 inches and offers an overclocked refresh rate of 170 Hz or 165 Hz natively.

The PS27S has a QHD resolution of 2,560 x 1,440 pixels and supports Adaptive Sync to minimize tearing. According to the manufacturer, the response time is 1 ms. VESA DisplayHDR 400 certification is also offered, which promises a brightness of 400 cd/m². Typically, the monitor is supposed to get 350 cd/m² bright.

The sRGB color space is covered to a full 100 percent, and the DCI-P3 color space to a very good 97 percent. The monitor also supports flicker-free technology and low blue light. This is joined by Light FX RGB lighting on the sides and two speakers, each with 5 watts of power and DTS support.

Ergonomics and Gaming Features

The PD27S can tilt between -5 degrees and 21 degrees, rotate between -20 degrees and 20 degrees, and adjust 150 mm in height. There is also a pivot function to allow the monitor to be used vertically.

Various gaming modes for genres like shooters, MMOs, action games, RTS titles, beat-em-ups or racers are available via the G menu. Optionally, a crosshair or the frame rate can be displayed, for example.

On consoles, a picture reproduction in 2,560 x 1,440 with 120 Hz is also possible. In terms of connections, the gaming monitor relies on two HDMI 2.0 ports, two DisplayPort 1.4 ports, a 3.5 mm jack and a USB hub with four USB 3.2 Gen 1 ports.

The design of the gaming monitor from Porsche Design and AGON by AOC is once again inspired by the automaker’s sports cars. The sand-blasted base made of cast aluminum ensures enormous robustness and a secure stand.

Price and Availability

The Porsche Design AOC Agon Pro PD27S is available in stores now. The manufacturer’s recommended retail price is 539 euros. For more information, visit the official product website.
