Pulsar Bruce Lee 85th Edition: martial arts look meets high-end performance

To mark the 85th birthday of martial arts legend Bruce Lee, Pulsar is launching a limited-edition peripherals collection that combines collector’s looks with uncompromising gaming performance. The Bruce Lee 85th Edition includes a PCMK 3 HE gaming keyboard, the ultra-light X2 CrazyLight gaming mouse in two sizes and matching mouse pads – each in an eye-catching martial arts design. Technically, Pulsar is based on its own flagship products: Hall-effect switches, rapid trigger functions and 8,000 Hz polling are designed to enable particularly responsive inputs, while the reduced color concept clearly references the actor’s iconic look.

  • Limited Bruce Lee special edition with keyboard, X2 CrazyLight mouse (mini/medium) and mouse pads.
  • PCMK 3 HE with Hall effect switches, adjustable trigger point and Rapid Trigger for extremely fast inputs.
  • X2 CrazyLight with only 35/39 g, XS-1 sensor up to 32,000 dpi and 8,000 Hz polling for e-sports-compatible precision.
  • Significantly higher price than the standard versions, clearly tailored to collectors and fans.

Bruce Lee-style design and keyboard features

The heart of the collection is the PCMK 3 HE gaming keyboard in a TKL version, which dispenses with the numeric keypad but retains the classic layout of the other keys. With dimensions of 35.5 × 12.7 × 3.7 centimetres and a weight of around 963 grams, the board appears compact but solid – the latter indicates built-in noise damping despite the lack of details. The housing is made of transparent plastic, while the switch plate is made of aluminum to ensure stability. Visually, a two-tone PBT double-shot keycap set dominates, with buttons for arcade fighting games highlighted in color and provided with matching characters; Bruce Lee’s name is also emblazoned on the underside.

Technically, Pulsar relies on analog reverb effect switches, which were developed in cooperation with Gateron and are marketed as “Gateron x Pulsar Magnetic Switch”. The switches work with a light initial resistance of 30 grams and a high scan rate of 35,000 Hz, combined with a polling rate of 8,000 Hz to register inputs with minimal latency.

The trigger point can be finely adjusted and can be moved dynamically using the rapid trigger function, which enables more precise control when tapping and releasing in fast-paced shooters and fighting games, for example. In “Quick-Tap” mode, the trigger point is lowered to 0.01 millimetres using a key combination, which theoretically allows extremely fast reactions, but can also lead to unintentional inputs in everyday use as soon as fingers are simply placed on the keyboard. The keyboard can also simulate thumbstick signals and is configured via web-based software with up to three profiles for buttons, lighting and layout.

X2 CrazyLight mouse and mouse pads as a supplement

The keyboard is complemented by the X2 CrazyLight gaming mouse in Bruce Lee design, which is available in both mini and medium sizes. The symmetrical 5-button mouse weighs only around 35 grams (mini) or 39 grams (medium), making it one of the lightest wireless gaming mice on the market. It is based on Pulsar’s own XS-1 sensor based on the PixArt PAW 3950, which supports resolutions of up to 32,000 dpi, 750 IPS tracking and a polling rate of up to 8,000 Hz. Together with optical switches designed for high durability and low bounce times, the mouse is primarily aimed at competitive FPS gamers who rely on very fast flicks and precise micro-movements.

Several mouse pads in the Bruce Lee look are also available. In addition to a classic fabric pad with a black, white and blue color scheme, there are Superglide3 variants made of glass, some with a large motif of the actor in an iconic pose. The glass surfaces aim for extremely low frictional resistance, allowing mouse movements to be performed with minimal effort – a profile that primarily appeals to high-sensors and tracking gamers, while fabric pads tend to offer more control. Overall, the collection is clearly designed as a showpiece setup that plays to a Bruce Lee theme both visually and functionally, without compromising on core values such as precision and latency.

Price, availability and classification

The Bruce Lee 85th Edition is priced well above the standard Pulsar variants. In the Pulsar webshop, the PCMK 3 HE Bruce Lee Edition costs around 200 euros, depending on the layout (ISO and ANSI). The X2 CrazyLight Bruce Lee Edition costs around 160 euros and is therefore significantly more expensive than the regular X2 CrazyLight, which is listed in stores from around 90 euros without a special design.

For the mouse pads, the standard gaming pad starts at around 25 to 30 euros, while the Superglide3 glass versions can cost around 100 to 120 euros, depending on the design. Pulsar is thus clearly targeting collectors, Bruce Lee fans and enthusiasts who are prepared to pay a noticeable premium for a limited design with a full technology package. The collection will be available close to Bruce Lee’s birthday, but is designed as a limited edition, which means that limited quantities and potentially fluctuating availability in stores must be expected.
