MSI has introduced two powerful new gaming routers in the form of the RadiX AXE6600 and RadiX AX6600. Both models are tri-band routers, each capable of a total speed of up to 6600 Mbps. After auf this year’s CES desktops, monitors, peripherals and PC hardware, the two models now unveiled represent the first new MSI routers of 2023.
RadiX AXE6600
The RadiX AXE6600 is a particularly fast tri-band router. Unlike most conventional routers, it not only operates on the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands, but also on the 6 GHz band. Up to eight parallel streams are supported, which ensures an enormously fast transmission even of large data volumes that are accessed via several devices. WLAN standards up to WiFi 802.11ax are supported.
The router enables guest access, time switching and supports MU-MIMO as well as OFDMA. Meanwhile, the device is powered by a 1.8 GHz quad-core processor. This is supposed to reduce jitter and lag and thus ensure unimpaired gaming experiences. The router is also equipped with heatpipes and graphene-coated heatsinks, which are supposed to ensure that the device delivers constant performance even under high load.
MSI also points out the bandwidth management solution QoS in the device’s advertisement, which prioritizes network traffic based on AI. Four prioritization modes are available here: Gaming, streaming, home work and AI-auto. Which mode is active can be seen at any time thanks to RGB lighting. The equipment is rounded off by RGB-illuminated antennas.
RadiX AX6600
The RadiX AX6600 differs from the already presented model primarily by the missing RGB antenna illumination as well as by the missing 6 GHz support. Instead, it transmits in two 5 GHz frequencies. It does not differ from the RadiX AXE6600 in terms of speed and other features.
Pricing and Availability
Available are the two new gaming routers are available now. The RadiX AX6600 costs $309.90, while the RadiX AXE6600 retails for $359.90.
