Ranger: Cougar introduces gaming sofa

Cougar has already tried its hand at gaming chairs in the past, but now the peripheral brand goes one step further and unveils a gaming sofa in the form of the Ranger.

The Cougar Ranger comes across as a typical massive armchair. The imitation leather cover has seams in accent colours, just like the ones you already know from gaming chairs. Cougar launches the Ranger in four colours, and buyers can choose between pink, orange, blue and green.

There isn’t much information available, but of course there isn’t too much information to give with a piece of gaming furniture. The gaming armchair weighs 31 kg and is designed for a load of up to 160 kg. The backrest can be tilted by 65 degrees, from 95 degrees to 160 degrees. Thanks to the footrest that folds out at the same time, you can then lie well in the gaming armchair. Whether you can still play well is questionable.

Typical for an armchair, it is of course equipped with arm rests. The Cougar Ranger also offers a lumbar and headrest.

What exactly makes the Cougar Ranger a gaming sofa, except for the more aggressive design, is not clear to me. RGB lighting is missing, there are no wheels to use it at the desk if necessary and there is no special device for keyboard and mouse or similar hardware. So you might have to invest in the Roccat Sova or Corsair K63 Wireless lapboard.

The Cougar Ranger is already available in stores. At Newegg it is listed for 280 US dollars, in Germany it can only be found at Saturn, where price information is still missing.
