Razer relaunches its compact 14-inch gaming notebook in white. The Razer Blade 14 Mercury Edition comes in two exclusive GPU configurations and relies on state-of-the-art hardware.
Razer Blade 14 Mercury Edition unveiled
With the Razer Blade 14, the manufacturer finally relied on CPUs from AMD last year. In our review with Ryzen 9 CPU, the compact gaming notebook won the Gold Award thanks to its outstanding performance.
Now they are reissuing the notebook in the 2022 variant as the Razer Blade 14 Mercury Edition in white. The new Razer Blade 14 edition combines the Mercury anodized aluminum chassis with a matte black keyboard for a unique look.
Offered exclusively, the notebook is available in two Blade 14 GPU configurations: the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 and the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070 Ti. The other technical equipment is similar to the other models of the Blade 14.
This includes, for example, an AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX processor CPU (8 cores / 16 threads, 20 MB cache, up to 4.9 GHz max boost), 16 GB DDR5 – 4800 MHz working memory or a 1 TB SSD. The display with a diagonal of 14 inches or 35.56 cm resolves in QHD with 2,560 x 1,440 pixels and comes with a refresh rate of 165 Hz. AMD FreeSync Premium is also offered, and the DCI-P3 color space is completely covered.
Software update brings USB 4 support
Furthermore, Razer announced a free software update for all 2022 models of the Blade 14 that upgrades the two Type-C USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports to USB-4 and brings support for Microsoft Pluton.
USB-4 extends peripheral compatibility, expands connectivity options for devices, and enables multi-monitor support, support for Thunderbolt peripherals, and more. Microsoft Pluton’s chip-to-cloud security technology protects users with a suite of hardware-based security features and services.
You can download the update for free from the Razer support website.
