Razer Blade 16 and Blade 18 go on sale

The gaming experts from Razer have two new gaming notebooks in their lineup. The Razer Blade 16 and Blade 18 are two powerful machines that are heading our way. These already caused a stir at CES 2023 and can now take a place in your gaming setup. On paper, they bring everything you need for good gaming entertainment with a 13th-generation Intel®Core™ i9 HX processor and RTX™ 40-series graphics cards from NVIDIA®.

Razer Blade 16: Mobile gaming behemoth

With its nearly 16-inch 16:10 display, the Blade 16 is the more compact of the two new gaming notebooks. According to Razer, the chassis is hardly bigger than that of the Blade 15. An Intel Core i9 13950HX is at the heart of the notebook. An Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090 provides graphics performance in the premium configuration.

Razer relies on a dual-mode mini LED panel for the display. As the name suggests, this offers a total of two modes. On the one hand, you can opt for a high UHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Alternatively, the display allows a lower FHD+ resolution in combination to an impressive 240 Hz.

Razer Blade 18: Desktop replacement

If you don’t fancy a bulky tower-sized gaming PC, the Razer Blade 18 should be the perfect alternative. After all, the powerful gaming laptop brings hardware performance that does not have to hide behind gaming desktops by any means. You have the choice between an Intel Core i9 13950HX or 13980HX. According to Razer, this should provide twice the system performance of a Razer Blade 17 (2021).

As with the new Blade 16, you should also be able to have an RTX 4090 installed here in the top configuration. According to the manufacturer, this should provide 150 percent more graphics performance than the Blade 17 (2021). The notebook should also prove to be a loyal companion in the home office. After all, it scores with numerous ports, a 5 MP webcam and six speakers.

Razer Synapse update brings CPU overclocking

In addition to the two new notebooks, Razer has also announced the update of Razer Synapse. With this, it should now be possible to use an overclocking feature for the CPU. The Blade 16 and 18 will benefit from the new HX CPUs. These can then be made even stronger by overclocking.

Prices and availability

Razer sells the Razer Blade 16 and Blade 18 with a one-year manufacturer’s warranty. On top of that, you get a two-year battery warranty. Depending on the configuration, prices for the Razer Blade 16 start at 3,099.99 euros. For the larger Razer Blade 18, the price starts at 3,399.99 Euros. Those who opt for the powerful variant with RTX 4080 or 4090 can already strike from February 08, 2023. For the somewhat weaker versions with RTX 4060 and 4070, you will have to wait until February 22.
