With the new Razer Blade 18, Razer presents its most powerful notebook to date and is therefore not only aimed at gamers, but increasingly also at AI developers and creative professionals. The 2026 version is positioned above the Blade 16 (2026) and combines the latest high-end hardware with functions that were previously reserved for classic desktop systems. Local AI workflows, modern AAA games and compute-intensive creative applications in particular should benefit from the new platform.

  • Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus with integrated NPU for AI acceleration
  • Up to NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPU with 24 GB VRAM
  • 18-inch dual-mode display with UHD+ 240 Hz or FHD+ 440 Hz
  • Thunderbolt 5, Wi-Fi 7 and vapor-chamber cooling for desktop-like performance

Razer Blade 18 combines gaming performance with AI development

The new Razer Blade 18 takes a much broader approach than classic gaming laptops. The focus is on the Intel Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus with a total of 24 cores and clock speeds of up to 5.5 GHz. The processor is complemented by an integrated NPU that can accelerate AI tasks with up to 13 TOPS. This makes the system suitable not only for games, but also for local AI inference, machine learning projects and demanding development environments.

The optional NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 laptop GPU with up to 175 watts TGP and 24 GB video memory is particularly interesting. According to Razer, this combination enables the local execution of large language models and complex AI workloads without having to rely entirely on cloud infrastructure. Developers in particular benefit from lower latencies and faster iterations in AI projects.

The Blade 18 should also impress in classic creative workflows. Large code bases, 3D rendering or video editing benefit from the high computing power and the optimized load distribution between CPU, GPU and dedicated AI hardware. According to the published benchmarks, the notebook achieves up to 37 percent faster LLM inference and up to 2.2 times faster AI image generation compared to similar devices.

Despite the enormous performance, cooling remains a key issue. Razer has therefore opted for a revised vapor-chamber system with an optimized multi-fan design. As a result, the Blade 18 should deliver consistently high performance even during long gaming sessions or continuous AI workloads without throttling prematurely.

Razer Blade 18 relies on a high-end display and modern connectivity

In addition to the pure computing power, the new dual-mode display is one of the most striking innovations. The 18-inch panel allows you to switch between UHD+ at 240 Hz and FHD+ at 440 Hz. The Blade 18 is therefore aimed at creators who require high image sharpness and color accuracy, as well as competitive gamers who prefer maximum refresh rates.

The display also offers DCI-P3 coverage of up to 100 percent and increased brightness. This makes the notebook suitable not only for gaming, but also for professional image and video editing. The high level of flexibility should particularly appeal to users who use their system for both work and entertainment.

The Blade 18 is also clearly at desktop level in terms of equipment. Thunderbolt 5, HDMI 2.1, Wi-Fi 7, 2.5 Gb Ethernet and a UHS II SD card reader provide modern connectivity options. The package is completed by USB-C charging with up to 100 watts and a 5 MP IR webcam with Windows Hello.

In terms of audio, Razer has installed a new six-speaker system with THX Spatial Audio+, which supports virtual 7.1.4 surround sound. As a result, the notebook should offer a significantly more immersive sound experience not only for gaming, but also for movies and music.

The housing remains true to the familiar Blade design language and continues to be milled from a single block of aluminum. At the same time, Razer is increasingly focusing on sustainability and uses recycled aluminum and packaging with reduced plastic content.

Conclusion

The new Razer Blade 18 is clearly evolving from a classic gaming laptop to a mobile desktop platform for AI, creative work and high-end gaming. The combination of RTX 5090 graphics, Intel Core Ultra processor and modern dual-mode display in particular sets the device apart from many competitor models. However, with an entry-level price of €4,099.99, the Blade 18 is clearly aimed at enthusiasts and professional users. The notebook is now available exclusively from the official Razer Store and selected Razer Stores.
