The gaming industry is on the verge of a new technological leap. At the Game Developers Conference 2026, Razer presented several AI-supported solutions as part of its “Future of Play” showcase, which are set to change the development of games and the gaming experience itself. The focus is on tools for automated quality assurance, intelligent assistance systems and a new generation of multisensory immersion. The aim is to speed up development processes while retaining creative control for studios.

Razer AVA: AI co-pilot evolves into an autonomous gaming assistant
A central component of the showcase is Razer AVA, an AI-supported assistant that was originally designed as a gaming co-pilot. Following initial presentations as “Project AVA” in 2025 and a holographic desktop version at CES 2026, the system now has significantly enhanced capabilities.
The focus is on what is known as an agentic system: instead of simply reacting to input, AVA can interpret user intentions and create structured workflows from them. Tasks are automatically planned and executed across various applications. This includes, for example, interaction with supported apps, chat platforms or music services.
The new Razer Inference Control Plane plays an important role here. This infrastructure dynamically decides whether AI requests are processed locally on the device or via cloud models. This is intended to reduce latencies and at the same time enable complex multi-step workflows.
AVA also supports companion-to-companion communication. Several assistants can interact with each other and coordinate tasks, such as appointments or calendar entries. This transforms the system from a pure gaming feature into a universal desktop companion for everyday life and work.
A beta phase is already planned: The first early access invitations are to be distributed from the second quarter of 2026.
AI-supported QA and multi-sensory immersion for next-generation games
In addition to the assistant, Razer also presented new tools for developers. Particularly relevant is the QA Companion AI, which was first shown at GDC 2025 and is now receiving extensive enhancements.
The system automatically analyzes gameplay footage, detects visual errors and creates complete bug reports including video recordings and reproducible steps. The main new feature is zero-integration deployment: the solution works without an SDK, plugins or changes to the game code and can therefore be integrated directly into existing QA pipelines.
The AI can also generate test cases independently – for example from tester prompts or game design documents. AI gameplay agents that perform these tests automatically and deliver results in the form of pass or fail reports are also under development.
At the same time, Razer is working on a new form of game immersion. The Adaptive Immersive Experience is a runtime system that combines haptics, RGB lighting and spatial audio. It is based on technologies such as Razer Sensa HD Haptics, Razer Chroma RGB and THX Spatial Audio+.
The system analyzes audio and visual signals from a game in real time and uses them to create additional effects – such as dynamic controller vibrations or lighting changes in the gaming setup. A new feature called Dynamic Haptics combines handcrafted effects from the developers with automatically generated feedback from in-game audio.
Thanks to a plug-and-play effects library, integration should be significantly faster: According to Razer, the effort for developers can be reduced to just a few days.
