Razer launches upgrade sets for keyboards

Razer wants to make its special gaming keyboards even better than they already are. The experts for gaming peripherals want to launch special accessory sets. The goal is to create a possibility to individualize the keyboard according to one’s own wishes. A total of three upgrade sets are to be launched. We take a look at the upcoming accessories.

Razer Phantom Keycap Upgrade Set

The first set is supposed to be a kind of 2-in-1 solution. Here, Razer namely wants to score with a combination of stealth and pudding design. The pudding design features transparent side panels. These ensure that the keyboard’s RGB effects are enhanced. For a higher longevity, the inscriptions on the single keys are made with a laser etching. If you deactivate the RGB lighting with Razer Chroma, the keyboard has a cool stealth aesthetic.

Fans of more restraint will enjoy this look. In total, the first upgrade set includes 128 keycaps. Optionally, these are to be available in the colors black or also white. The compatibility is really impressive. You should be able to use the set for all Razer models of the Mini, Tenkeyless and full-size sizes. Those who secure the current BlackWidow V3 Mini HyperSpeed Phantom Edition can already benefit from the new styli.

Razer PBT Keycap + Coiled Cable Upgrade Set

The two other planned upgrade kits also sound promising. Here, too, the focus is on durability, which is quite desirable in times of dwindling sustainability in the field of electronics. The focus here is not only on high-quality Doubleshot PBT keycaps, but also on a resistant spiral-shaped USB cable.

To choose from, this combo pack comes in four different colors. Besides the Razer-typical poison green, you can also choose between white, pink and black. One can use the upgrade set with Razer’s keyboards in the formats 60 percent, Tenkeyless and full-size.

Razer Ergonomic Wrist Rest

For an extra dose of user comfort, the new compact wrist rests are supposed to provide. Called Ergonomic Wrist Rests, the upgrade set should be able to be used on the comparatively small Tenkeyless and Mini keyboards, according to Razer.

At the heart of the comfortable support option is soft memory foam. This is ergonomically shaped and thus relieves the wrist. It is also supposed to prevent your hand from slipping. Razer covers the foam with a special anti-slip base especially for this purpose.
