Razer Leviathan V2 X: Compact USB-C soundbar introduced

With the Leviathan V2, Razer launched an excellent and compact gaming soundbar in April of this year, which we liked very much in our test. Now they’re putting out an even more compact version, the Razer Leviathan V2 X, which fits better on smaller desktops.

Razer Leviathan V2 X presented: All the details

The new Razer Leviathan V2 X comes in at a length of 400 mm, making it 100 mm shorter than the regular Leviathan V2. Still, it’s said to be on par sonically with its larger sibling, combining an immersive audio experience in a compact form factor with easy connectivity.

The V2 X relies on two full-range drivers and two passive radiators to deliver compelling and rich sound, while fitting perfectly under most monitors. For easy connectivity, the Leviathan V2 X is powered via a USB Type-C cable, and reaches an impressive maximum volume of 90 dB.

According to specs on the Razer website, the V2 X covers a frequency band of 85 Hz to 20,000 Hz, which means it doesn’t quite match the bass range of the larger V2 (45 Hz to 20,000 Hz).

This is not surprising, since the PC gaming soundbar does without a dedicated subwoofer, which in the case of the Leviathan V2 with a diameter of 140 mm provided a lot of power. On the other hand, the V2 X is much lighter with a weight of 845 grams and can also be connected to smartphones and other devices via Bluetooth 5.0.

Operation via buttons or app

As with the V2, operation is via buttons on the top of the soundbar, while you can use the Razer Audio app for iOS and Android or Razer Synapse software for PC to influence the sound via equalizer and adjust the Chroma RGB lighting.

With the help of a 10-band equalizer, you can influence the sound. Thanks to Razer Chroma RGB, the world’s largest lighting ecosystem for gaming devices, the Leviathan V2 X offers a full 14 lighting zones, countless patterns and dynamic lighting effects.

Price and Availability

The compact Razer Leviathan V2 X USB-C soundbar is available now in many countries. In Europe, we still have to be patient until the 4th quarter of 2022, the manufacturer has not yet named a concrete date.

It is available on Razer.com, in Razer stores, and at authorized retailers for a recommended retail price of 119.99 Euros. Thus, it costs about half of the price that is currently called for the Leviathan V2. The latter is available for around 214.90 Euros.
