Realme 7i: Smartphone for 159 euros

With the 7i, Realme presents an entry-level smartphone that is equipped with a Helio G85 and a 6,000 mAh battery, among other things.

The technical basis: Helio G85

The heart of the smartphone is the octa-core Helios G85 processor, which is a system-on-a-chip model. It is composed of two CPU clusters, one via two ARM Cortex A75s at 2GHz and the other via six ARM Cortex A55s at 1.8 GHz. A 1 GHz fast GPU is also included. The Helios G85 is supported by four GB of RAM, although it is unknown whether this is LPDDR4X or LPDDR3 memory. The internal memory is 64 GB and can be expanded by 256 GB via microSD card.

The display: 6.5 inches

The smartphone’s display measures 6.5 inches diagonally and has a resolution of 1,600 × 720 pixels. The pixel density is 270 PPI accordingly. The refresh rate is 60 Hz. Overall, the device measures 164.5 × 75.9 × 9.8 mm and weighs 209 grams.

The highlights: Battery and camera

Besides the 6,000 mAh battery, the highlights of the device include the 48 MP triple camera, which has an f/1.8 aperture, an ultra-wide-angle sensor with f/2.3 aperture and eight megapixels, as well as a macro lens with f/2.4 aperture. Another eight-megapixel camera is also found on the front. The aforementioned battery can be charged via an 18-watt fast charger, which is certainly also a plus point compared to other devices in the price range.

Price and availability

The smartphone is available immediately. The called price is 159 euros, which puts the device in the lower price range. An adapted version of Android 10 is used as the operating system.
