Revopoint has introduced the Trackit SR, a new optical 3D tracking scanner designed to significantly simplify traditional metrology workflows. The device is completely wireless, requires no marker points on the component, and, according to the manufacturer, achieves a single-frame accuracy of up to 0.02 mm—figures that were previously reserved for stationary industrial solutions.
Industrial precision without a tangle of cables
Traditional metrology setups often suffer from time-consuming setup, error-prone cable connections, and adhesive markers that must be placed before each scan. This is exactly where the Trackit SR comes in: It combines laser scanning with 0.02 mm single-frame accuracy and a volumetric accuracy of up to 0.02 mm + 0.04 mm × L (m) with a completely wireless and marker-free workflow.
Integrated sensors monitor the operating temperature in real time to prevent accuracy-compromising drifts caused by temperature fluctuations. With the CMM Edition, accuracy can also be verified directly on-site using a CMM-certified sphere plate.
Markerless tracking for virtually any surface
Instead of relying on adhesive reference markers, the Trackit SR captures the scanner’s spatial position via optical tracking directly in real time.
Three scan modes provide flexibility depending on the task:
- Fine mode: 30 blue cross-laser lines for high-resolution details
- Far Mode: 17 blue parallel laser lines for fast surface capture
- Deep-Hole Mode: 1 single blue laser line for deep holes and cavities
This allows the scanner to cover a wide range of applications—from the rapid capture of large body panels to the precise measurement of hard-to-reach holes and cavities. All three modes also handle dark, reflective, and metallic surfaces directly, without the need for markers or anti-reflective spray.
Wireless, portable, lightweight—even for outdoor use
The Trackit SR was designed from the ground up for a wireless workflow. Both the scanner and the tracker connect wirelessly to the PC via Wi-Fi 6. Thanks to its powerful battery, the scanner offers approximately 2.5 hours of runtime; the tracker can optionally be powered via a battery grip.
Combined with a light tolerance of up to 100,000 lux outdoors, the system is suitable not only for the workshop but also for field use—such as in engineering, archaeological excavations, or industrial on-site measurements.
A seamless software ecosystem
The Trackit SR comes with a comprehensive software suite that covers both the “scan-to-report” and “scan-to-CAD” workflows:
Revo Track handles real-time capture and registration during the scan. The generated data can be processed directly in Revo Measure for GD&T analyses, deviation visualizations, and inspection reports—or in Revo Design for reverse engineering with CAD-compatible export in STEP, IGES, and STL formats. Since all three applications operate on a shared database, there is no need for the tedious process of exporting, converting, and re-importing data between different programs.
