The chic and versatile adjustable gaming mouse Kone XP from Roccat could mostly inspire us in the test from May 2022. We were especially taken with the up to 29 possible buttons. Now the manufacturer is relaunching the gaming mouse as the Roccat Kone XP Air, wirelessly with a particularly fast-charging Rapid Charge Dock.
Roccat Kone XP Air introduced
The wired Kone XP features carefully perfected ergonomics, multiple buttons and 29 assignable functions that make it one of the most customizable gaming mice on the market.
The Roccat Kone XP Air wireless reissue picks up all of these advantages as well, while also taking advantage of the manufacturer’s Stellar Wireless technology to combine fast speeds, low latency, and rapid recharging.
As such, the gaming mouse comes with a stylish, AIMO-enabled RGB Rapid Charge Dock for charging, whose lighting can be synced with other devices in the Roccat ecosystem like the Vulcan TKL Pro (our review). Charging is also extremely rapid.
With a charging time of 10 minutes, the Rapid Charge Dock allows up to five hours of playtime. Fully charged, the Roccat Kone XP Air can withstand up to 100 hours of gaming time. With the help of the included PhantomFlex USB-C cable, the mouse can also be used wired.
The same technology
Otherwise, the Roccat Kone XP Air picks up the technology of its wired sibling. It features stylish 3D RGB lighting and the precise Owl Eye 19K DPI optical sensor. Heat-treated PTFE feet provide a smooth glide. Titan Optical Switches allow for excellent responsiveness and offer with a tremendous longevity of 100 million clicks.
Thanks to ROCCAT’s Easy-Shift [+] technology, multiple buttons as well as the 4D wheel expand the mouse’s capabilities to a full 29 programmable functions. Despite the built-in battery, the Kone XP Air weighs in at just 99 grams and allows for particularly intense RGB lighting thanks to the transparent case.
In addition to the newly designed AIMO RGB lighting, the Kone XP Air features Roccat’s reliable 2.4 GHz Stellar Wireless technology as well as Bluetooth connectivity, which even allows the mouse to be paired with multiple devices.
“The response to the wired Kone XP has been amazing and fans immediately asked for a wireless version. That’s why we’re excited to let everyone know that the Kone XP Air will be available in less than a month,” reveals René Korte, founder of ROCCAT and general manager of PC peripherals at Turtle Beach.
