Manufacturer ROCCAT releases a new edition of its 2007 Kone gaming mouse, the ROCCAT Kone XP focuses on improved ergonomics, an innovative 19K DPI sensor, Titan Switch Optical and 3D RGB lighting
The ROCCAT Kone XP Features
The ROCCAT Kone XP presents itself as the spiritual successor to the Kone AIMO Remastered. Among the new features is a unique RGB lighting with 3D light effects. This is realized by 22 LEDs and eight light guides in the transparent case. Thanks to AIMO lighting, the mouse can be integrated into the manufacturer’s ecosystem and synchronized with other peripherals.
The scroll wheel is also illuminated and goes by the name “4D Krystal Wheel”. In addition to the standard vertical click and scroll functions, the mouse wheel is clickable on the left and right side and offers a tactile click feeling. A total of 15 dedicated buttons are offered, and thanks to ROCCAT’s Easy-Shift[+] technology, there are 29 possible button functions.
The Kone XP’s left and right mouse buttons each activate the Titan Switch Optical, which provides a responsive click, with lightning-fast triggering. ROCCAT’s Titan Switch Optical is faster than any mechanical switch and twice as durable. It achieves an impressive 0.2ms trigger speed for up to 70 million clicks and offers adjustable debounce timing, which is critical for drag clicking.
19,000 DPI sensor
Inside the ROCCAT Kone XP works the specially developed ROCCAT Owl-Eye 19K DPI optical sensor, which is based on the PixArt PAW3370. The Owl-Eye sensor tracks every mouse movement with high precision for extreme in-game accuracy and is also customizable via ROCCAT’s Swarm software suite.
The mouse relies on an ergonomic design for right-handed users and comes in at 126 mm x 76 mm x 40 mm (length x width x height), as well as weighing 104 grams. Other features include an integrated memory, the 1.8-meter ROCCAT PhantomFlex cable, and heat-treated PTFE glide feet, which the manufacturer claims provide an almost wireless mouse feel.
In addition, the Kone XP can be synced with NVIDIA Reflex to achieve the lowest possible latency. Response times are under 25 milliseconds.
Price and Availability
The ROCCAT Kone XP is available for pre-order now on the manufacturer’s website, as well as at participating retailers in black and white. The gaming mouse will then be available in stores starting March 29, 2022. The RRP is 89.99 euros.
