To mark the 20th anniversary of the ROG brand, Asus has unveiled several new gaming peripherals in China. The highlight: the Godlike 27 Plus, a triple-mode monitor that can switch between three different refresh rates depending on the resolution—up to 488Hz.
Three Resolutions, Three Refresh Rates
The Godlike 27 Plus features a 27-inch Fast-IPS panel with native 4K resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) and a 240Hz refresh rate. Using the triple-mode function, the resolution can be reduced to achieve higher refresh rates: At QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels), refresh rates of up to 400 Hz are possible, and at FHD (1920 x 1080 pixels), they can reach as high as 488 Hz.
This positions the monitor between monitors that specialize purely in resolution and those that specialize purely in speed: Recently introduced Philips models can reach up to 540 Hz, but only at the significantly lower HD resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. The Godlike 27 Plus, on the other hand, is designed to offer sharper image quality even in its fastest mode.
AI Gaming Features and Connectivity
Asus promises sharp motion rendering across all three refresh rate settings thanks to intelligent pixel enhancement. It also includes several AI-powered gaming features, including a dynamic crosshair and dynamic shadow brightening. Connectivity options include DisplayPort 1.4, HDMI 2.1, and USB-C. Asus has not yet disclosed further technical details, such as brightness or HDR support.
Price and Availability Still Unconfirmed
Asus has not yet announced a price or launch date for the Godlike 27 Plus—neither for China nor for other markets. Further details are expected to follow shortly.
