Samsung Flip Pro: Interactive touch display with up to 85 inches

The Korean manufacturer Samsung is not only “flipping” in the smartphone sector with the Galaxy Z Flip models and maybe even in the cheaper Galaxy A model series in the future. They have now unveiled the Samsung Flip Pro, the most powerful model of interactive displays to date, which can be integrated into everyday work and school life with many of the convenience features of a modern interactive display.

Samsung Flip Pro with 4K in up to 85 inches

Samsung’s interactive Flip display, which still came in a maximum of 65 inches in the second generation model from 2019, for example, is getting bigger and more powerful. Compared to the indirect predecessor, Flip 3, the improvements should be even more noticeable.

This includes, for example, an even smoother writing experience on the 4K touchscreen, which is supposed to enable smooth writing, drawing and sketching thanks to a reduced latency of just 26 ms.

The new Samsung Flip Pro features the latest display technology, gets a maximum brightness of 350 cd/m² and offers a high contrast ratio of 4,000:1. An installed ambient light sensor also detects the strength of the external light conditions fully automatically and adjusts the display brightness individually to the environment. The interactive display is available with a screen diagonal of 75 inches or even 85 inches.

The usability of the display has also been optimized. Thanks to multi-touch functions, up to 20 people should be able to work interactively on a document at the same time via external access. You can either write or draw with your finger or with a stylus and even in 2,048 pressure levels.

Connectivity, sound and more

You can connect external devices via USB-A (3.0), USB-A, HDMI or USB Type-C on the front panel of the Samsung Flip Pro. Thanks to PowerDelivery, the latter port is also able to charge connected devices like tablets, notebooks or smartphones in parallel to the video and audio transmission and even transmit the touch display commands.

Added to this are Bluetooth, WLAN and support for AirPlay 2 for wireless communication. Samsung SmartView+ can also wirelessly connect up to 50 different devices and display four different content layers simultaneously. For this, the screen is divided into four equally sized areas in split-screen mode.

Work results from group tasks in the office or school assignments can be shared live here, edited, provided with sketches or pictures and commented on. A rich sound is also promised by the powerful integrated 40-watt audio system, which should ensure loud playback even in large meeting rooms and classrooms.

Samsung Flip Pro in everyday office use

The OPS slot on the Flip Pro allows the use of a third-party OPS computer, providing the ability to use school information systems (SIS) or specialized learning apps. In hybrid work environments, the display is equipped with pre-installed tools that are supposed to make everyday work easier.

For example, you have direct access to network drives or can use the full Office 365 package directly via the web connection. The Google Duo app is also preinstalled for video conferencing, but you will have to bring or buy the corresponding webcam yourself. Samsung talks about compatible Logitech webcams that can be conveniently attached to the display’s edge.

Tizen 6.5 is used as the operating system, which stands out with a particularly intuitive interface that even younger children should have no problem with in everyday school life.

Not a lightweight: The specifications

From a technical perspective, the Samsung Flip Pro relies on a Cortex A72 quad-core CPU with a clock speed of 1.7 GHz. Internally, 32 GB of storage space is available, of which 2.65 GB are already supposed to be occupied at the factory. Thus, you can actually use 29.35 GB for apps and data.

The 4K panels of the New Edge type have a refresh rate of 60 Hz and offer a high viewing angle of 178 degrees from all directions. The gray-to-grey response time is estimated at 6 ms.

However, the displays are truly not lightweights. The 75-inch Flip Pro measures 1724 x 1026.3 x 89 mm and weighs in at 59.3 kg. The 85 incher, on the other hand, is considerably larger at 1945.8 x 1151.1 x 89 and weighs a whole 75.2 kg. Both models are offered in the color “White gray” and can be mounted on the wall in landscape mode.

Prices and availability

The Samsung Flip Pro series models are available immediately in Germany. First retailers list the interactive displays from 3,209.90 euros (Samsung Flip Pro WM75B) or from 4,500.00 euros (Samsung Flip Pro WM85B). More information can be found on the official product website of the manufacturer.
