Samsung Galaxy A04s: entry-level smartphone revealed

Just in time for IFA 2022, Samsung has introduced a new smartphone for all those who do not want to spend too much money on a device. Although the Samsung Galaxy A04s is an entry-level smartphone, the specs do not read bad at all. Especially the 5,000 mAh battery and a fast 90 Hz display look good already.

Upgrade for the Galaxy A04

The market for entry-level smartphones is more competitive than ever before. For example, just recently Poco announced its upcoming M4 5G, a budget smartphone with a strong battery and 90 Hz display. However, Samsung does not want to clear this field so easily as the former ruler. Unfortunately, the South Korean company could not reach previous qualities with devices like the Galaxy A13 (test). This could change with the Samsung Galaxy A04s. This offers some improvements as an upgrade to the Galaxy A04.

Firstly, there is another camera lens. Namely, the module on the back is now composed of the 50 MP main camera, a 2 MP macro camera and a 2 MP depth camera as a triple camera. The display measures 6.5 inches and has a resolution of 1,600 x 720, which is not breathtakingly sharp, but sufficiently high. The frame rate is more exciting. Thanks to 90 Hz, Samsung’s Galaxy A04s promises buttery-smooth motion pictures. That is far from standard in this price range.

Energy-efficient processor meets large battery

The heart of the Samsung Galaxy A04s is a Samsung Exynos 850. The in-house chip is supposed to work pleasingly efficiently thanks to an 8-nanometer manufacturing process. Thus, it gets along very well with the 5,000 mAh battery. Since the smartphone does not have any hungry hardware, it is supposed to offer a lot of endurance. The chip is supported by either 3 or 4 GB of RAM. In terms of storage, the user can choose between 32 GB or 128 GB. Since the latter can be expanded via microSD, it should be sufficient.
