The manufacturer has unveiled yet another new mid-range smartphone in the form of the Samsung Galaxy A23 5G. The device’s advantages include a 50-megapixel main camera, a 5,000 mAh battery and, of course, 5G connectivity.
Samsung Galaxy A23 5G in detail
It is slowly getting crowded in Samsung’s mid-range A-series. With the Samsung Galaxy A23 5G, the A53 (our review), A 33 (our review) or A13 (our review) get an addition. The new smartphone has optical parallels to the A33 5G in particular.
The smartphone measures 165.4 x 76.9 x 8.4 mm and weighs 197 grams. It is equipped with a 6.6-inch Infinity-V display that resolves in Full HD+. Details about the refresh rate are not provided by Samsung’s Spec website.
The South Koreans also do not announce the chipset in detail, but only reveal that an Octa-Cora CPU is installed. Depending on the model, it has 4, 6 or 8 GB of working memory and 64 GB or 128 GB of system memory. The latter can be expanded by up to 1 TB via micro-SD card.
The battery of 5,000 mAh is quite ample. Besides 5G connectivity, the A23 5G supports Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (2.4G + 5GHz) and Bluetooth 5.1.
The Samsung Galaxy A23 5G’s cameras
On the back, the manufacturer installs a total of four cameras, which find room in a rather high-looking hump in the upper left corner. The flagship is the main camera with a resolution of 50 megapixels, an open aperture of f/1.8 and an optical image stabilizer (OIS).
It is supported by a 5 MP ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 and two 2 MP sensors with an aperture of f/2.4, which are intended for macro shots and depth information. The front camera resolves with 8 megapixels (f/2.2 aperture) and sits in a centrally placed waterdrop punch hole.
Price and Availability
It is currently unclear when and at what price the Samsung Galaxy A23 5G will be available. At least, however, there seem to be four colors. Besides a black and white model, Samsung shows pictures in an apricot color scheme, as well as in a light blue.
The manufacturer will also unveil its new Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 4 and Z Fold 4 foldable smartphones in the coming week. On the other hand, it has just been announced that production in one of the largest factories will be significantly downsized due to the decreased smartphone demand.
